How does it work?

We provide all the online tools for home owners and house sitters to find each other from around the globe (or around the corner).

What is house sitting?

Simply put, house sitting is the practice whereby a home owner, leaving their house for a period of time, entrusts it to one or more "house sitters", who by mutual agreement are entitled to live there rent-free in exchange for assuming responsibilities such as taking care of the homeowner's pets, performing general maintenance etc.

Why join as a house sitter?

Why join as a home owner?

The steps (in brief)…

  1. Become a member and create your listing/profile
  2. Search for house sitters or house sitting assignments
  3. Create an email alert so that you can be notified instantly of new opportunities
  4. Meet up
  5. Finalise the deal

Our house sitting agreement

When two perfect strangers meet and arrange to take care of each other's house sitting requirements, it's a good idea that they both go into the situation equipped with a copy of our house sitting agreement. We cover all the bases with this plain-English, editable document.

What do our members say?

  • The number one housesitting service ( Dual)

I Have been with mind my house for 15 years now. I started with the super expensive competitive housesitting service, which I won’t even mention the name, but I have been so happy with leaving there. Mind My House offers many sits and I get daily notifications. I think what I love most is that the customer service is outstanding. Any question or problem I’ve had I get immediate response and resolution. I have done many different housesits I found through them and will continue. In my opinion, they are the number one housesitting service. I highly recommend them.

  • Please keep doing what you are ( Owner)

Since I have been a member of MMH myself and my partner have had really lovely sitters and not once have we felt let down in any way. Please keep doing what you are, I for one really appreciate your site and would be lost without you.

In this special seasonal edition of the MindMyHouse News, we are introducing a long awaited upgrade for house sitters and home owners: the Availability calendar for sitters and Date filtering for owners! We have also made a few other tweaks to the site: Sitters can now search assignments by more continents, and sitter alerts now include date searching. We also wanted to comment on the booking fees introduced by "you know who". Oh, and we have a new homepage design, and checkout the assignment annual heartbeat…
