About this sitter

I am 66 years old and was a homeowner in rural western Colorado for 32 years. I recently bought a house in Tryon, North Carolina. I am open to many types of house/pet sitting assignments, whether rural with a lot of solitude, or in the city, which is a nice change of pace for me.

Why they want to house sit

I love my home, and the beauty of rural North Carolina. But I also enjoy new places and love animals. So I decided that house/pet-sitting made sense for me.

I can drive to many places in the eastern United States, but I also love overseas house/pet sits. I have traveled the world, and I have done pet/house sitting in Spain, Ireland, France, Fiji and Guatemala

Yes, I have watched dogs, cats, cows, horses, goats, chickens and parrots.

I am responsible and genuinely love animals. I am a birder, and will take care of wild birds as well as most types of animals. Dogs, cats, lizards, turtles, snakes, chickens, geese, donkeys, you name it. I will take care of your house and your pets as if they were my own.

Cheryl spent 2 months in my house. She kept me posted of what's was happening and how well my cat was doing. I came back to a tidy house and a happy cat. She is friendly and easy to talk to.Everyone in the village told me how nice of a lady she was.Everything was perfect.

Cheryl did our house -and pet sitting during a month in rural Andalucía. She turned out to be most reliable and everything you would wish a house sitter to be like. Best of all, she really loved our cats and they in turn adored her. I would not hesitate to recommend her, you'll be hard pressed to find better care for your pets.

Cheryl and I connected through THS.com. I was away for two months. Cheryl looked after my house and cats for the whole time, managing everything efficiently despite the worst weather we have had in decades. She responded to any queries I had and let me know of any problems, but didn't bother me with trivial concerns. I arrived home to a tidy house and very happy cats.

Cheryl took excellent care of our cat & horse. She played with the cat and he was content and at ease when we got home after three weeks. Two appliances broke and she handled that gracefully. The house was clean and plants were healthy.

Cheryl took care of our birds (parakeets) and did an outstanding job of caring for them. I left her with 2 pages of instructions for maintaining thier dietary, and overall health. She took my place exactly - as if I never left. Thank goodness for her service(s).

Cheryl took care of my horses (3) and calves (3) and 2 dogs. I was so impressed how efficiently she handled the job and adjusted to staying with my dogs. She's perfect for the job.

I am a non-smoker, non-drinker (occasional beer on a hot summer day) and am fairly tidy. I love to read, and like my own company. I am able to deal with both large and small issues as they come up, just as I do at home.
