About this sitter

My wife and I are now retired from the finance industry and are about to sell our second home in France because we would like to try different locations from the one we have been used to for the past 13 years. We are happy to sit any location, town or country, and any style of property.

Why they want to house sit

We enjoy living in foreign locations and different environments. Living in a locality, albeit temporarily as a house sitter, gives a much better feel for the local community and much more personal flexibility than a hotel. Also, longer house sits is a great experience of local cultures compared with short term holiday home renting.

Their experience

We are experienced in living abroad for short periods but we are also very adaptable to different cultures and languages.

What can they bring to the assignment

We are both sensible, practical and adaptable people who are conscious of the fact that we are living in someone else's home and the need to treat it as we would our own. We are happy to garden and carry out basic maintenance tasks as we have owned our own home in the UK for nearly 50 years (and still do) and are aware of what is required in managing a home for more than, say, a weeks holiday let.
