About this sitter
Irish couple, mature-ish and non-smokers that have reared 4 daughters, 4 dogs, 2 rabbits, 2 guinea pigs & 1 cat (not altogether, mind you) looking to travel and seek out new adventures before the grandchildren start coming (lol). Sam is a self-employed Family Support Worker and Joe retired early from Industrial management.
We both love all kinds of animals and enjoy D.I.Y, travelling, camping, our garden, being outdoors and living by the sea.
Why they want to house sit
Interested in visiting people’s homes and exploring different places, meeting new people and enjoying their homes and animals and treating their homes and animals like as if they are our own.
Their experience
We are experienced house & pet owners and have minded animals/caretaken homes for our own family & friends. We had our first official housesitting assignment back in April/May 2017 Ireland Co. Kildare and have done the following since then
- Sept /Oct 2018 5 weeks in Ireland Co. Clare
-March/April 2019 3 weeks in Portugal,
-April 2022 Alicante Spain 1 week
- October 2023 Ireland Co. Wexford 1 week & another stay of a a long weekend
-February 2023 Ireland Rosslare Co. Wexford (back again for 5 weeks)

We also got the opportunity to do 2 house & pet-sits recently in sunny Perth Western Australia Jan 2023 (through friends).
We thoroughly enjoyed meeting each of these house-sits and look forward to many more to come.
What can they bring to the assignment
Maturity, reliability, trustworthiness, some DIY, cleaning and gardening skills, cuddles (for the pets, lol) and a sense of adventure.
We are happy to consider anywhere for any amount of time preferably in the Autumn/Winter/Spring months (as we usually busy in summer months here in Ireland with family commitments ) We also would have a preference for longer-sits if we need to pay for flights.
We also very happy to help out with holiday let’s/rentals/camping/glamping etc ...

Simply the best
Sam & Joe really are the best. They not only looked after our home and pets as if they were their own, but they also dealt with a particularly challenging unforeseen situation in a very professional and capable manner. We couldn't have asked for better: they were friendly, maintained excellent communications, and were very clean and tidy. Our pets were very happy and obviously well cared for. Short and sweet
Sam and Joe what a lovely couple Sam and Joe stayed at our villa in Spain recently while we had a short break. They looked after our 2 dogs 1 cat and the local stray cat. Our pets where very happy and content on our return and the house was spotless. They even left us a little gift which is now sitting proudly in our conservatory. For any one that wants to travel without any niggling doubts i would highly recommend Sam and Joe. Hopefully they will be coming back to us one day

The best house sitters we have ever had!
What can I say other than - we didn't really want them to leave! Sam and Joe looked after our house, dog and ducks for almost a month while we were away for work and holiday. The house was clean and spotless on our return, they even put flowers everywhere. The garden was tidy and organised (which it certainly wasn't before we left) and most importantly our dog Zavi was totally content. We could tell he had a great time with Sam and Joe and I think he was a little sad to see them go. Sam and Joe also bought some baby chicks into the world for us! Friendly, positive, clean, reliable and happy house sitters that we would ask back in a flash! We cannot thank you enough! Love Candy, Ben and Zavi x

Trustworthy and reliable, strongly recommended.
Sam and Joe looked after our house for five weeks while we were in France. We met them for lunch before the house sit and we had no reservations about entrusting our house (and Snowy the cat!) to them. The looked after the house and cat and even kept the grass cut.. and we have a lot of grass! They kept in touch by email. The house was immaculate on our return and everything fine. We would have no hesitation about using them again if the opportunity arises or recommending them to anyone else.

Thank you for looking after our house and animals!
We had the pleasure of welcoming Sam and Joe into our home while we went on vacation for 2 weeks. We felt the house was very well looked after and the dogs, cats and chickens all seemed very comfortable after our return. Joe even managed to fix a broken door lock for us! All communication was very prompt with regular updates from the home front during our time away. I have no reservation at all recommending Joe and Samantha for your housesitting needs.
