About this sitter
Svetlana has been doing house-sitting since 2013. She is very reliable and flexible, non-smoker and non-drinker; lives in Mission, BC, Canada. House-sitting for her is a way of traveling, discovering new places and connecting to different people & animals. Until recently she did house-sitting with her husband who now prefers to stay at home and take care of their new cat.

Svetlana is truly gifted with animals. Even my shy kitty who runs immediately from everyone he sees stuck around when he first saw Svetlana and warmed up quickly. Not only did I relax knowing all of my instructions would be followed, I also was happy to know she was making little adjustments as necessary, following her natural instincts, just as I would do. The little messages and photos I got daily made me smile. They were the cutest! She would tell little anecdotes of what everyone was doing, illustrating that they were in their usual routine and acting their normal selves, and she saw their unique personalities. I also got to hear about what she was doing to enjoy herself on the trip, which made me happy, too. Her communication was excellent before and during the sit. She kept me feeling connected to home while I was away for almost two weeks. When I returned, the house looked great, clean, tidy, everything in order. The cats were relaxed and happy and looked healthy. We call her "Auntie Svetlana," because she was such a natural with my babies. She even handled things smoothly when one kitty got a little scratch on an outdoor adventure. I was so glad she was there! Her presence and energy is very grounded, calming and confident. I was impressed that she drove nine hours to sit for us and to be near the ocean, which she loves. She is welcome to sit for us anytime, if she ever wants to deal with my annoying cats again! ha

Warm and Pet Friendly
Svetlana is a lovely person with wide life experience. We enjoyed getting to know her before leaving on our adventures. She's an excellent communicator and easy to talk to. Svetlana is diligent about caring for the home and took extra care to connect with our elder cat. Svetlana is a wise, practical and caring individual and it would be wonderful to connect with her again as a house sitter and as a friend.

Happy kitties
Svetlana and Gerry have looked after our home and kitties about 6 times now. I know our kitties are are well looked after because of the shape they are in when we return home. Happy. Relaxed. Well fed. It’s easy to tell if they have been ignored. Svetlana and Gerry are dependable, reliable and careful with our house and garden as well.
