About this sitter
About us.
My husband is a retired gardener (degree in horticulture) with a lot of experience in both, vegetable and landscape gardening, selfemployed.
We used to live in our own country houses in Portugal and France together with our cats and our dog. As we are retired we now live in a cityflat with no animals any more. That means, we are able to travel, what we love, and also do housesitting.
In addition we did a lot of housemanagement in France and Portugal. My education and experience in administration is very helpful.
We use our own transport.

We love to go back to situations we used to live in before we retired.
We always used to live with a dog and cats, which we miss now.
In additon we love the countryside and enjoy different cultures.

Wonderful house-sitters
When you feel as if you’ve known a couple for years, within 24 hours of meeting them, you can feel confident leaving your house and pets in their care! This confidence was certainly not misplaced with Irmtraut and Bernhardt.. They are excellent house-sitters and lovely people. They took great care of the house, leaving it clean and tidy. Bernhardt, a professional gardener, pruned our fruit trees and other plants (at our request) and gave us excellent advice on other garden matters. Our dog Tess was very well looked after- exploring new walks which we’d not known about before! Irmtraut and Bernhardt made the most of exploring the countryside round and about. They also sent us frequent photos and updates to let us know all was well. We came home after a very long journey, to a delicious meal and were treated as guests. I would not hesitate to recommend this charming and very pleasant couple as house-sitters and I thank them for all their care and attention.
