Experienced pet sitting couple

have bought up children for the 20 or so years, along with various pets: dogs, cat, fish, horses, guinea-pigs, hamsters, gerbils, budgies, etc, you get the picture!
We are caring, considerate people and fully appreciate that you are trusting us with your animals and home. We have our own property & have loved (and sadly said goodbye) to our own pets, we would want anyone staying at our home to be clean & respectful & to adore our pets. It shouldn't be a difficult thing.
We've been house sitting with THS for around 8 years, both as a couple and on occasion with our children. We were foster carers for a number of years and initially the THS platform was an effective way of helping the children to learn about different animals, give them travel experiences at an affordable cost - yes we had quite a few small persons! Now, our own children have grown up, the last one has recently left home.
Even though we are able to holiday without choosing a pet sitting option, which we also do, we genuinely enjoy the mutually beneficial option of pet and Housesitting - a holiday at "home" with animals to look after.
As the years have passed and our stays and reviews have progressed we have been able to get sits for fantastic pets and places. We often get invited back to the same homes & get recommended to a friend by someone we've housesat for previously. We like to explore the places we visit but equally the pets & property come first, to be honest, we're usually in bed by 9! We will be on our kindles and loving on your pets at your home rather than tracking our steps :) Gary works remotely so we will be very much around as he does have to work as well.
Where we are now - for the past year, whilst Gary continued in data, we became licensed animal boarders. This allowed us to look after people's dogs in our own home. What a wonderful time, some truly memorable dogs & owners, most became regulars and others wanted to pre book into the next year but we didn't plan on doing more than more than a year so that was sad, it was difficult to say goodbye although we do stay in touch with quite a few of the owners. In parallel, we had been very much working towards our exit strategy, also known as "phase 2" - knowing that we would be leaving our home by end of the Uk summer this year (2023) to start our combined travel and pet sitting journey, our goal of a faux "retirement". At the time of writing this revised piece of our profile, we will be leaving Bali in a few days having been here for 2 months serving 3 adorable cats. We have a few confirmed sits in Australia over a 3 month period and ideally we would like to find a lovely pet or two around sydney before we leave Australia.

Well adding on, it’s UK summer (one weekend in August the sun came out), we’re back in the uk having created lots of memories and made lasting friendships - both with people and pets. We’re now looking for new opportunities from October through to April/ may 2025, ideally somewhere warm with beautiful pets!
