About this sitter
I am a responsible, proactive, hardworking and friendly person. I love to help and travel, so this is the perfect place to make my dreams come true.
Why they want to house sit
I am a Spanish teacher, so I love to meet cultures. I think life does not make sense if we don't help each other. So, when I found this, I realized it was the best way to travel and immerse in the culture while giving a hand to people and animals.
Their experience
I have been taking care of pets since I was born basically. In my family we always had dogs and 2 tortoises. Then I got married and we moved countries a lot, so never had a pet together.
On April 2023 I got divorced, not because of travelling, nothing bad happened fortunately.
However, now I can travel and help people and animals this way because all my classes are online.
I started to live travelling in July 2023 and Ireland was my first destination. There I took care of 60 hens and 5 Guinea pigs for 2 months.
I also lived for 2 years in Australia from 2016 to 2018, where I volunteered in a shelter of 15 Guinea pigs.
I was born in Argentina, but lived most of my life in Spain, since I was 10. In Madrid I volunteered for a bird shelter for a couple of months too.
In October 2023 I spent 2 weeks in Barcelona taking care of the 2 cats of a couple of Hungarian students.
In November 2023 I was 3 weeks at my mom's taking care of her 5 cats and the 2 tortoises. She has a big garden with many fruit trees and an orchard, so I had to take care of it too. I collected 20 4L jars of olives and changed the water every 2 days.
In December 2023 I took care of 3 dogs and 1 cat in Romania.
In January 2024 I lived in the Peruvian Amazon taking care of 2 dogs, 2 cats, 19 hens and 2 roosters.
From mid February 2024 to mid March 2024 I took care of 2 cats in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
In April 2024 for 2 weeks I took care of a cat in Galicia, northwest of Spain.
In every place I have been sitting I took care of the plants. I love animals...and plants too.
In June and July I was in the north of the Czech Republic for 2 months taking care of a cat and a dog.
I went back to Galicia, this time to A Coruña, to take care of the dog of a South African student for 2 weeks.
Now I am in Costa Rica since mid August taking care of 17 dogs, 5 cats, 15 hens, 11 chicks, 1 rooster, 6 ducks, 7 baby ducks, 3 small water turtles, fish in ponds and a parrot. Fortunately, the owners are going to travel just one week, so they give me a hand, or I give it to them. I feed them, clean and of course lots of cuddles and massages.

I offer a lot of work and good vibes. I am a peaceful and quiet man.

Best house sitter ever
Alvaro was looking after our house, garden, dog and cat in Czech Republic while we travelling around Scandinavia for 8 weeks. He did an amazing job. He took really good care of our dog and cat, sent us regular updates with pictures and stories. He took care of our garden which is not so easy in the summer. After 5 weeks our dog got injured and he took him to the vet as many times as needed and nursed him back to being a happy and healthy dog. It was really a stressful time for us because we were far away from home but he kept calm and reassured us that everything was going to be fine. And in the end it did! Alvaro, we would like to thank you for making our journey carefree and without any stress because we knew at home everything was going perfect! Thank you for all your messages and updates! Thanks for your special care to ours place
Alvaro came to live this special expérience of house sit in the remote jungle and take care of our house, land and animals and we are SO GRATEFUL! 7ha, 20hens, 2dogs, 2 cats, wild animals, rainy season, a river to cross, a big house..... don't afraid Alvaro! While Mabe and i went for holidays for few weeks, Alvaro came to take care of our special place and He did more than we expected. Alexa (our partner in the project) and Wale were There to welcome Alvaro and show him around for the first days of his stays and Mabe and i, had the chance to spend the Last Day with him to share experience. Even if the internet was bad sometimes, even if the clima was wet, even with work around, Alvaro was always nice, happy and grateful to be here. The communication at distance was good and we had news and pictures of our animals almost everyday. The house and terrace where cleaner when we came back than when we left. Responsible, kind and a great storyteller!
I had the pleasure of having Alvaro housesit my place and my two cats Donnie and Jet for over a month while I was away, even though we only spent a day together before I left for my trip, he made feel assured that my place and the cats were going to be well taken care. Alvaro is extremely tidy and clean, he would send me lengthy updates of the cats, the house, the weather and about his days and trips which I enjoyed receiving. He even reorganised my place for me and left little gifts for me. I liked that he practiced sustainability and eco friendly practices which inspired me to be more mindful about my consumption habits. The cats were well looked after and looked happy and comfortable when I came back to them, going away is always stressful for me and I got lucky with Alvaro. If you are looking for someone for your home while you are away I would highly recommend him :)
