About this sitter

I am recently retired. I worked from home, looked after a household and brought up my family. I enjoy walking and cycling and exploring nature and old buildings. I am very practical and capable, happy in myown company or meeting new people. Like to have a light footprint and for myself use environmentally friendly products. Am a non-smoker. I enjoy gardening and being in the outdoors. I love animals, have not owned any as my children were allergic to them, but have always walked dogs, looked after cats and small animals and in my younger days did horse riding. My hope in house sitting is to live in a comfortable homely atmosphere, for longer rather than shorter periods, where I can provide owners with the chance to go away confidently and I can explore a new area and environment.

Why they want to house sit

Having travelled abroad a lot in my 20's I am now keen to explore more of the UK. To go somewhere new, with the luxury of a home that is already set up, and freedom to explore from a safe and comfortable base. And to share this with any pets woud be super, bringing company and seeing this part of the world at their pace and through their favourite places to go. Like having a local guide!

Their experience

I have looked after a house, cleaning, caring and upkeep, decorating and repairs for over 40 years. In last year have looked after friend's properties: cat sitting, plant and house sitting and most recently a large older house. When at home I walk friend's dogs, look after neighbour's cats and dogs and other animals whilst they're away and stay with my brother's Labrador when he works abroad.

What can they bring to the assignment

Respect and care in looking after another's home whilst they away.
I am clean, tidy, self contained.
Happy to water plants, potter in garden.
A love and experience of being with animals for a short time, getting to know them and their routines and fitting in with them so they are as relaxed as can be with a new person.
