Experienced pet carers who speak French

About this sitter

We are a caring, considerate and conscientious, non-smoking 50+ couple who will treat your home and pets as though they were our own. She speaks pretty good French but "Il parle Francais comme une vache espagnole"!! We have plenty of recent experience running our own pet sitting business - 'caring for your pets in our home!' and understand the stresses of leaving your loved ones with strangers. Rest assured we will always put their welfare first and will keep in touch with you while you're away. We are happy to care for a few dogs and cats together and the odd chicken or two but it is our vacation as well so we want to feel at home in your home and enjoy our day trips out too.

Why they want to house sit

For this first assignment we want to revisit France and take day trips out to enjoy the countryside, the sea, the language and the sunshine!

Their experience

We ran our own successful pet sitting business, caring for dogs and cats in our home. In that time we experienced the very highs and the lows of caring for other people's pets. The key to success was good communication with the owners and a few pics of their furry friends so they knew all was well. In this assignment though we will be the ones in unfamiliar surroundings so we will rely on you to give us a clear plan beforehand in case anyone does get ill or anything goes wrong! Rest assured though we will always put their care and welfare first.

What can they bring to the assignment

We are honest and sensible, caring and considerate and will look after your home and pets better even than our own. We would also be happy with a 'no pet-care' house sitting assignment if you just want to have someone around while you're away. Also, because we are currently without any pets ourselves, we would consider a 'no pet-care house swap' with a mature, non smoking and sensible couple if you would like to come visit to enjoy the cooler summers of West Cork! This will be our first assignment so we will limit it to a couple of weeks or so to see how it all works out. Dates and exact duration are flexible as long as we can agree firm dates 2 or 3 months in advance. We may be able to bring our car over, use yours if available or maybe borrow your bikes!!
