Hi, I'm Tabitha! I am a former elementary school teacher turned school librarian that left the public school world in 2017. Since then I have been teaching online classes and am currently working in Children's Online Safety, examining apps that target children. My fully remote work allows me the flexibility of traveling and working from anywhere.

I am in my late 30s and have had dogs and cats around my entire life. I adore animals and love having them around me. I am the person that will spot a cat from over a block away and walk very roundabout ways to get somewhere because I saw a cat there one time. I will love your pets as if they are my own and you can trust that they will be well cared for while you are away.

Why they want to house sit

I love to travel off the beaten trail and spend quality time exploring a location like a local. Pet and housesitting offers a fantastic opportunity to explore an area that I might not have otherwise visited.

After living in the UK for the past 3 and a half years, I have recently moved back to the United States. After realizing that I've seen more of Europe than I have of the US, I am embarking on a cross-country petsitting roadtrip for 2025.

Their experience

I have had dogs and cats my entire life. I started watching neighbors dogs and cats when I was in high school and have been petsitting ever since. I often watch my friends, family, and coworkers dogs and cats while they are away. I have watched up to 3 dogs at a time and have experience with a variety of different breeds. I have cared for dogs and cats requiring medication, including pills, liquid via syringe, and eyedrops.

I also am a house plant lover and am happy to water plants while you are away!

What can they bring to the assignment

I know the guilt that pet owners can feel when they have to leave their pets behind to travel. I love being able to help minimize the stress on a pet by being able to care for them in their own homes while their people are away. Providing lots of cuddles and play time can ensure the pet is content and allow the pet parent to enjoy their time away without having to worry about a stressed pet.
