It's a bit strange to think that phobias can be passed from mother to son, but yeah, that happened to me. That, and a scratch on the face when I was a child, which didn't leave any marks (at least on the skin) but I still remember.
I have engraved in my mind the image of kneeling on the floor, with the best intention and the innocent curiosity of a child who never expects a response from a cat that seemed very calm at first.
I won't say that the fear persisted over time, I didn't even develop a proper phobia, nor did I ever hate cats (like my mother still does), but I just never found cats very interesting.
Simple.
I didn't show any interest in them, and they didn't show any interest in me.
As if an unspoken agreement.
But with dogs...
Pfff, things were always very different.
For me, it was always seeing a dog and feeling like a child watching that tail spin like a helicopter and ending up rolling on the ground receiving licks all over my face.
You could say that I always identified myself as a dog lover.
But, but, but.
They say love heals everything.
In my case, an ex-girlfriend, who of course had a cat.
They also say that love is the sum of small moments shared over time, a connection that strengthens with each encounter and experience together.
And that's how it was.
Little by little, step by step.
We started understanding each other more with Robin.
He took small steps towards me, and I took some towards him.
I realized we had many things in common. An independence and a love for freedom that manifested occasionally when he warmed my feet while we slept, or in that subtle purring as a greeting when I got home, or falling asleep behind the laptop while I worked.
I'm still a dog lover, I won't lie to you.
But cats have earned a beautiful space in my heart, as they taught me a lot about being patient and living in the moment.
And that affection and connection are always there, present, despite seeming distant...

If you're looking for a seasoned cat lover, maybe I'm not the right person...
... but if you're looking for a pet sitter who is on the path to falling in love with the little meowers, you might be interested in talking to me.

I'm sure you've already read hundreds of times phrases like "because I love animals" or "because I'm a digital nomad, and this is a great way to travel."
Well, I'm not the exception, haha.
I'll just add this:
Imagine a journey where you're the guardian of a community, a home, beloved pets.
Look at it as a rewarding adventure, loaded with its fair share of responsibility, of course. It's taking on a huge commitment—it's not just a task; it's a pact for the well-being of a home and the little creatures that make it whole.
It's clear that house sitting is also a one-way ticket to dive into different local and cultural communities. It's not just about visiting a place; it's about becoming a local for a while, soaking up traditions, and embracing the narrative of that place.
But, going even deeper... I think house sitting is the simple act of giving and helping.
For me, it's about being able to help you find peace of mind and give you reassurance while you're away. You can be out there, trusting, knowing that your little furry ones are in capable hands.
As a music teacher, this symphony of responsibility, cultural immersion, and genuine help is part of a grand musical composition of exploration and connection with people all around the world.
Yeap!
Thanks to this platform, I had the opportunity to take care of a farm:
2 ponies, a horse, a mule, 4 donkeys, 6 goats, 18 chickens, 2 ducks, 2 turkeys, 4 cats, and a dog.
Yep, all in the same experience =)
And...
... in the past, many friends have entrusted me with their pets while they were away, whether they left them at my place or asked me to stay at theirs so that the little furball doesn't experience stress or miss them too much.

Connection and understanding with your four-legged friend.
- If your little buddy is a cuddle and hug addict, he'll never be short of a good overdose of love.
- If he's someone who likes to keep his distance and show affection from afar, he'll have someone who understands and respects his way of being and his space.
- If he's like a hyperactive kid, needing long walks and fetching the ball hundreds of times, he'll have a walker and a lover of exploring unknown places.
- If he's old and just wants to chill at home without much noise, we'll be great companions for reading, meditation, and yoga.
Moreover, of course, the house is like a sanctuary to me, so order and respect come first. And if something needs fixing or repairing, you'll also have two skillful hands at your service for whatever you need.

The guitar playing pet sitter
Naño came at short notice, which was fantastic. Even though Naño is not a farmer, I will not be surprised if it turns out that this is his destiny eventually. Naño had a direct connection with our dog, and it did not take long before we got pictures of him with cats on his lap. Naño felt directly at home, and he followed a list of tasks without any problem. He communicated clearly, and everything went very smoothly. We left our animals with complete confidence in his care. When we returned, the house and the stable were tidy and clean. He is welcome back anytime! Naño has experience with dogs, cats, chickens, turkeys, ponies, donkeys, and goats. Thank you Naño, we hope to see you again!
