I am a proud mom of two wonderful adult children, and together we’ve shared an incredible journey filled with rich experiences. One of our favorite memories is learning to garden—growing both vegetables and flowers—while living on a farm. My children participated in FFA, where they had the joy of raising and showing chickens, pigs, and cows. Over the years, our farm was home to a variety of animals, including ducks, chickens, pigs, cows, horses, and even turtles, each adding its own unique charm to our lives.
A few years ago, I discovered Trusted Housesitters, and it has been such a rewarding experience. I prefer longer house sits as they allow me to immerse myself in the local community, forming deeper connections with both the neighborhood and the pets I care for. As a School Psychologist, I occasionally work virtually while house sitting, ensuring I can balance my professional life with my love for travel and new experiences.
I’m looking forward to meeting you, your pets, and discovering the unique character of your home and community. I’ve already seen so many wonderful places and can’t wait for this exciting journey to continue!
I enjoy house sitting because it offers the chance to experience living in a different environment and become part of a new community. I have a passion for learning and exploring, and I find it fascinating to see how others live. We often assume that everyone’s lifestyle is similar or that someone lives better, but I appreciate the opportunity to step into your world, if only for a brief time.
I have extensive experience caring for animals, gardens, and homes. Over the years, I’ve looked after a wide variety of animals, including chickens, horses, cows, pigs, dogs, cats, fish, and turtles. I especially enjoy walking dogs, as it’s a great way to get exercise, and I’ve even had the unique experience of walking pigs and cows. For one homeowner, I regularly rode their horse to ensure it got enough activity, though I’m not sure I could still do that today! Chickens can be fun to care for—especially when they have a good temperament, as ours did. Gardening is one of my favorite pastimes, and where I live in Florida, we’re lucky to have two growing seasons. In terms of home care, I’ve lived independently for about seven years, so I’m familiar with the basics and know when it’s time to call for help. I also take pride in keeping things clean and tidy, as I’m a bit of a neat freak.
I bring warmth and a kind spirit into any home. Raised with good values, I tend to fit in seamlessly wherever I go. Many people say I bring an energy to the room, but it’s a curious, smiling energy—calm and welcoming, rather than overly animated. Along with my personality, I offer the insight of 10 years of graduate education and 20 years of experience as a psychologist working with children. I have a lot of patience with kids—though, admittedly, sometimes less with their parents—but I’m always empathetic. Over time, some of the people I’ve helped by caring for their homes and animals while they travel have become dear friends. I look forward to extending the same care and kindness to your home.
