About this sitter
I am a retired professional seeking homes and pets to care for while experiencing new places. I have owned my own business and have been an expat for several decades (Europe, Africa, Latin America). My wife is still working as a diplomat and will join me when she can. I have experience with dogs, cats, birds and fish having grown up in a house full of animals. I am currently a homeowner, a landlord and a renter- I understand how to care for a home in a responsible manner.
Why they want to house sit
I want to explore new places and the ability to do so from a home rather than a hotel is appealing to me. I am retired so my schedule is flexible - I can travel on short notice to virtually anywhere in the world.
Their experience
I have experience caring for homes. We have lived in more than 15 homes in 8 countries as owners, landlords and tenants. I have owned and operated my own business locally and as an expat. I know how to navigate cultures I am unfamiliar with. I will treat your home with the same respect I care for my own.
I have experience caring for dogs, cats, birds, and fish (as well as 4 now-grown children). I worked at the Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage in Nairobi, so I'm comfortable around larger animals as well (elephants, giraffes and rhinos). I love the companionship of pets.
