I am a long time PDX resident who just finished a therapy degree in Philadelphia, and I am looking for house sitting opportunities until my partner returns to PDX next year. While I settle into my new career I'd love to look after your home and your pets. I start paying off my loans, you get to be away knowing the things you love are well cared for.

Why they want to house sit

I have a unique situation and bring unique benefits to house siting gigs. I want to house sit because I will be traveling back and forth between PDX and Philadelphia and temporary situations will suit me perfectly. I also love taking care of other peoples homes, I used to own a small construction company and maintain a deep interest in homes and how people organize their lives. The last biggie is that I will be apart from my beloved person and our two cats, I'll really really enjoy spending time with your pets.

Their experience

I routinely look after a friends house and cats for shorter periods, and those cats had some medical demands that required special attention (something my cats have too).
I recently house sat for a friend who was in Europe for a month and was able to not only care for her two pets but also manage the inevitable issues that come with home ownership (leaky toilet, doors that wouldn't close, new lawn furniture that needed to be assembled).
In the past I would often care for my mother in law's large dog when she would go out of town (we lived in and ADU), and I have fed and looked after many cats over the years.

What can they bring to the assignment

So much! I am kind, conscientious, and responsible, and as a home owner myself I know the trust it takes to let someone in. I will honor that trust.
I am well connected in Portland so if something comes up I can handle it. Under certain conditions I am willing to put my handy-person skills to work.
I live with a plant master, and can easily and reliable take care of your plant babies too.
