About this sitter

Hi! We're Nathan and Kyah, a couple living in the gorgeous, creative mountain town of Fort Collins, Colorado. Just 15 minutes from the Rocky Mountain foothills and 7 minutes from the arts district, we live in a colorful, well-equipped apartment with our two labs, Mozzie and Caffrey (like from the white White Collar!).

Ultimately, we are looking for someone or a couple who might want to "swap" homes and pets with us. We love to explore new places, and are highly resilient, proactive, and mature as a result! Many people don't want to worry about someone bringing their own pets to their home on here, so why not swap?

Why they want to house sit

We want to house-sit because we believe life is short, and squeezing all of the lemon juice out of it can make it rewarding not just for ourselves, but the people we experience it with! Our dogs are well-traveled, moderate, and sociable pups who also love meeting new people, so we view house-swapping as an opportunity for them as well.

Their experience

Yes! We both grew up with dogs and cats, and I personally grew up mucking stalls and riding horses at my grandparent's ranch in Veroqua, Wisconsin. Fortunately for Nathan, I've spent the past four years roping him into barn life, and he is now intermediately experienced in taking care of horses as well.

In terms of house-sitting, my first full-time job was being a nanny at 14 years old, and I have 7,000 hours of pet-sitting, babysitting, or house-sitting under my belt. Even though we are relatively new to the platform, I can provide excellent references for myself and for Nathan, who also house-sit regularly for his neighbors growing up.

What can they bring to the assignment

Well, for one — we can bring an exciting, comfortable, and interesting traveling experience to your life, while being able to take care of your home or pets at the same time! Here is a little bit more about our home:

We live in Fort Collins, CO which is about 20 minutes from the foothills and Horsetooth Reservoir, an hour from the Rockies, and 30-40 minutes from Roosevelt National Forest. We also are a 7-minute drive from "Old Town" — a beautiful arts district for shopping, listening to free live music/events, and a vibrant artistic atmosphere. Fort Collins does have free public transportation (a bus stop .1 miles from our home) and there are several affordable shuttles from DIA airport (about 1hr away). If we are not bringing our Subaru, and you do need a car we may be able to negotiate use of that (for your safety and relaxation!)

As far as our property goes, we have a wonderfully equipped kitchen with everything you might need to make a delicious meal, an on-site pool, a 24-hour gym, and dog park. Our Queen mattress is like a cloud, and both of our (42, 55 inch) TVs have Hulu, Max, Netflix, Prime, Paramount+, and Peacock which you are welcome to use. We love to cook elaborate breakfasts in the morning, sit on our rocking patio furniture, and hang out with dogs in the morning — so if that's your jam, this is the place!

As far as pet and house sitting goes, we're comfortable and eager to take care of a variety of animals. We work from home and can do so anywhere in the world, we both know how to drive manual cars (for you Europeans ;)), and we can provide excellent references, quality time with your pets, plants, and home.
