About this sitter
I’m an experienced pet sitter, animal lover, artist, and health professional.
I am re-joining Mind my House after a year’s break, so I am starting again with my page. I can supply recommendations from my regulars.
I love to be around animals, nature, countryside, coastlines and cities.
I am open to pet sitting cats and dogs around Europe.
Somewhere I can explore the local culture while prioritising pets.
Why they want to house sit
I love animals and their antics. I have had many family pets, my last dog was a rescue greyhound who loved her food and cuddles.
Also I love to see new places and experience different cultures.
My partner, who is also an animal lover, sometimes pet sits with me if he has time off work.
Their experience
I missed.not having a pet so I decided to start pet-sitting back in 2017.
I have regular pet sits in the UK for cats and dogs. Owners go on trips knowing their pets are safe with me at their homes. They enjoy their local walks and I, of course, feed, play and care for them.
I have also pet sat in Spain twice, one in the Andalusian countryside looking after two cats, Diablo and Sephora and Pepe the dog and the other near Barcelona looking after Phillie the cat.
All the pets loved being in their own homes, in their own beds and gardens or patios
What can they bring to the assignment
I lovingly care for pets as if they were my own and I follow your instructions as to their specific needs.
I look after owners homes, leaving homes as I find them. Owners like the security aspect of someone being at their home too.
I understand some Spanish.
I also like to sketch and to leave a souvenir as a gift for my stay.

I am delighted to highly recommend Val as a pet sitter! She arrived to our home the evening before we left to France and we discussed the assignment and the needs of the animals. She is an excellent listener and was thorough in clarifying with me the important details, especially with regard to my very old dog Phoebe. We left for our trip confident that she would communicate regularly and keep an eye out for any deterioration in the health of Phoebe. Val seemed very calm and courageous in the face of a possible emergency situation should Phoebe have needed urgent vet attention. We returned to a clean and very tidy house, happy pets and even Phoebe was more vibrant and engaged than when we left. Well done, Val! Val also sketched all three pets and hung the pictures up for us, what a gem. I’m hoping she will come to us again. She made the most of discovering a new town and seemed to have enjoyed our home and the peacefulness here by the sea. Thank you again Val….

Phillie cat sitting
Val and Kevin were magnificent, the gold standard for pet sitting! Very warm, understanding and completely dedicated to ensuring that myself and Phillie (cat) were at ease. Communication was flawless, asked about requirements and needs, schedules etc. and instantly hit it off with Phillie upon meeting. Hope you're in Barcelona again, Phillie and myself would be happy to see you both again.

Recommended Pet & House Sitter
Val looked after our home and pet Cat Skyler for around 3 and a half weeks whilst we were visiting family in the USA. Val was completely reliable in responding to all communications, following our wishes and instructions and providing a high quality level of care over our home and pet. When Val came to visit for an informal induction prior to our trip, she was prompt, friendly and instantly put us at ease. She displayed an instant affiliation and connection with our pet Cat as well. Our home was very tidy and clean when we returned and we were both delighted with Val's services and consideration. We would thoroughly recommend Val to anyone else looking for a Pet and/or Home Sitter.

Kitten and House sitting over Christmas and New Year
Val did a great job keeping my two 9 month old kittens happy while I was away. So much so they weren't too bothered when I got home. I was fortunate enough to meet Val before going away and she was very personable and obviously loves animals so I left on holiday with full confidence that everything would be fine. Looking after the flat was an added bonus and there was absolutely no issues here either. All that's left to say is thank you so much, and I love the sketches of Annie and Oscar in your profile pics as well as the personal pic you left for me. I will be in touch when going away again!
