About this sitter

Hey, we're Ananda & Beth. We're a professional digital nomad couple.

We love to travel. I (Ananda) have lived in New Zealand for a couple of years and have travelled around five continents.

We love animals and are experienced pet sitters. We are committed to animal welfare and have both previously worked with dogs (more on this below). We have our own rescue Lurcher, Tuva, who stays with family when we're abroad.

As digital nomads, we're often interested in longer sits and repeat sits (especially in Spain). I am British but have an EU passport, so I can sit in Europe for over 90 days. We are both non-smokers and mainly vegetarian (we don’t cook meat or fish at home).

Why they want to house sit

We love to travel and love animals, and we can both work remotely from anywhere. We have house-sat for many years and have used another sitting platform extensively over the last year to travel around Europe.

We miss our dog while travelling and love spending time with people's pets. We've had many enjoyable house and pet sits, and think it's a great way to experience new places.

Their experience

Ananda:

I have over two years of experience in professional dog care. I managed a dog daycare in Wellington, New Zealand, worked at a London dog daycare, and as a dog walker. I enjoy teaching and reinforcing basic training using positive reinforcement methods.

We both adore cats and are experienced cat-sitters. I have lived with many in the last 10 years. We have looked after cats with health problems and can administer oral medication.

My family had rabbits and guinea pigs throughout my childhood, and we've looked after rabbits and hamsters while house-sitting.

I volunteered on a lifestyle block in New Zealand where I cared for and exercised horses, and I’ve stayed on farms where I’ve cared for sheep, cows, and chickens.

Beth:

I have loved animals since childhood, grew up with terriers, cats, and I went on to complete a Bioveterinary Science degree at Royal Veterinary College London.

I have professional dog-care experience as a supervisor at one of the UK’s largest dog daycares, managing up to 50 dogs daily. I also worked with a London council dog team, rescuing strays and handling challenging dogs alongside the MET police. I’m comfortable interacting with dogs of all sizes and temperaments.

Through the daycare, I house and pet sat for clients when they were on holiday or stuck abroad due to covid. We looked after and fell in love with a Labradoodle for five months, and have since adopted our own dog Tuva.

I also adore cats and have experience caring for them. I enjoy learning about their varied personalities, whether they are needy or independent, and earning their trust as they become more comfortable with me.

I (Ananda) started house and pet sitting 8 years ago and Beth joined me last year. We have sat for over 9 of the last 18 months.

We both have flexible work schedules, so can easily adapt to your pets. We appreciate good communication and will always send photo & video updates of your animals. We will care for your pets and your home as we care for our own.
