About this sitter

I am a Canadian Citizen with an unrestricted New Zealand Resident Visa. Who, after working for the British Columbia government as a Civil Engineering Technician for 34 years, immigrated to NZ in 2013 to return to a Land Surveyor position for a small company north of Auckland. I started housesitting in 2015 after a shoulder surgery kept me from working for a few months and have had so many great housesits I decided to carry on with it after my retirement last year. Running an average of 30-40km a week keeps me in great physical condition and as you can see from my reviews I really care about the pets and homes I am trusted to care for.

Why they want to house sit

Having home owners have become friends, meeting new people and their pets, travelling to places I haven't been to, all make the housesitting experience very rewarding. Getting requests to come housesit again the next year is a special feeling.

I have lots of experience with all kinds of pets. Dogs from little poodles to 200lb Newfoundlanders, a variety of birds, even had an aviary where I raised finches from newly hatched eggs. Also years of experience with setting up, care and maintenance of marine aquariums. I've been on sheep and cattle farms as well, even bottle fed a lamb that was rejected by her mom.

What can they bring to the assignment

Trust in me is something I don't take lightly, correspondence with home owners on a regular basis while they're away in standard practice. I will try my absolute best to make sure you have no worries about your pets or home while you travel.
Several homes have required plant and lawn care, some have needed minor electrical and plumbing repairs and even cleaning and repainting a deck have been successfully completed.
I've dropped home owners off at the airport and picked them up when they got home.
Home to happy, well cared for pets and a very clean house, always.
