Retired Couple Looking to Sit for Your Furry Family!

About this sitter

My wife Jenny and I are a retired couple who love animals and love to travel.  Jenny is a retired teacher and I am a retired social worker.  We are looking for short and long term sits throughout the USA and internationally in rural and urban areas. We are the couple who stop you so we can pet your dogs and wind up with pics of pups & kittens from our journeys.

Why they want to house sit

Since retiring we have been wanting to explore more of this wonderful world we live in, but within a budget. Since we love animals, it only seems natural that sitting for others would be beneficial not only to other families, but to us as well, after all we miss our “girls” when we our gone.

Their experience

We have sat for friends and family for years watching both cats and dogs in our home as well as in their homes. Our daughter is a veterinary technician and was always bringing home special patients that needed a little extra care which is how we came to adopt our one eyed cat Panthor. Panthor is no longer with us as she joined several of our pets who have crossed the rainbow bridge. Currently we have three couch potato dogs, Blueberry who is a re-homed 9 year old Australian shepherd, Rosie who is an 8 year old rottie shepherd mix from the Humane Society , and Mable who is a 7 year old blue healer mix we met at a farmers market. We are looking to sit as well as have others sit for us so we can travel more in the coming years. We have experience with cats, dogs, fish, turtles, some fowl, some reptiles, ferrets, and rabbits. We are familiar with caring for sickly and geriatric animals including providing medications.

What can they bring to the assignment

Even though we are a retired couple, we are also an active couple who enjoys exploring new places with and without pets! Long walks, going to the dog park or just relaxing with your pet is what we look forward to providing. We have dogs that loved their kennels and ones who sleep on our pillows. Whatever your needs are, we are willing to help!
