Hey there! :)

We’re Bas (26) & Swan (25), a friendly and reliable couple from the Netherlands, living by the coast near Amsterdam with our 7-year-old dog, Buddy.

Swan is the founder of a german pet food company, and Bas works as a music producer. We’re both lucky to work remotely, which gives us the freedom to combine our love for animals and nature, exploring new places, and experiencing life in different corners of the world.

We are nature lovers through and through. Whether it’s playing with Buddy on the beach or walking him every day at least for 2 hours, watching the ducks and their ducklings paddling along the Dutch canals in spring, or simply enjoying the quiet company of animals around us.

This is why house and pet sitting is such a perfect match for us. We genuinely enjoy caring for animals and understand how important it is to know your furry (or feathery!) family members are safe, happy, and well cared for while you're away.

At the same time, we are tidy, well-organised and take great care of our own and other people's things and animals. Respect is one of our highest values in life - so we appreciate it in return from the people we meet in our lives.

We are looking for houses close to nature, where we can enjoy calm and simple living. We also see house sitting as a great opportunity to collect animal experiences and to explore different places as we figure out where we might eventually want to live or life away from the Amsterdam business.

Why they want to house sit

We want to house sit because we both love animals and exploring new places. Since we met we have been to many interesting places abroad with our dog, so house sitting with pets is the perfect way to spend time with animals and experience new places. At the same time we know how important it is to feel safe with your animals when you are abroad. We spent 3 weeks in Asia without our dog Buddy and having a good pet sitter who gave him the love, care and attention he deserved (and needed) made our trip much more peaceful in our minds.

Their experience

Yes, we have experience caring for homes and pets within our families and circle of friends. We have looked after our parents' homes when they moved away in winter or went on vacation. Swan grew up with dogs and has had four in her family, while Bas grew up with smaller animals and later had a dog in the household. Swan also regularly looks after the cats of her friends when they are away. Now, we are excited to start expanding our experience by house and pet sitting for people further away from Germany and the Netherlands.

- Familiar with pet routines, dietary needs, and administering medication if required

- Comfortable with both high-energy animals like dogs needing long walks and/or cuddly pets who enjoy company

- Experienced in dealing with multiple pets at once

- Of course we would love to provide regular updates, including photos and messages, to keep you reassured that your home and animals are doing great

- Very handy with small household tasks or light gardening if needed

- Open-minded, adaptable, and calm in unexpected situations

- Passionate about nature and enjoying quiet environments, making us a great fit for rural or remote house sits

Last but not least: We are both very quickly adapting to new environments, tasks or challenges - which means we are also the perfect match for animals we haven't been taking care of in the past.
