3rd year veterinary student on externship in Colorado Springs

Hi! :) My name is Molly and I'm a 3rd year vet student at Kansas State University. I'm originally from western Oklahoma where I was raised on a farm in a small town. I'm the first one in my family to earn a college degree. I completed my undergrad at OSU (go pokes!), but now I'm at KSU getting my DVM. My fiance and I have two Belgian Malinois' and a cat of our own.

Why they want to house sit

House sitting is a great opportunity for vet students like myself. We do unpaid externships for experience and we often have to pay for our own accommodations if they're not in the town we live in. So, it gets hard being able to afford housing when we're not able to work do to the demands of school. I'm doing a few externships in the Colorado Springs area because that's where my fiance and I want to move when I graduate. I love Colorado Springs and I'm trying to make connections in the area that hopefully will lead to job offers!

Their experience

This is my first time using Mindmyhouse, but I'm very experienced in both pet sitting and house sitting. I grew up on a horse and cattle ranch where we had a menagerie of animals. I have three pets of my own plus I'm in vet school, so I'd say taking care of animals is a passion of mine! Traveling is also a passion of mine and I've housesat and petsat for family and friends in other states and countries many times before. I've taken care of a variety of different animals on these trips, from lizards and birds, to horses and cattle. Pets might be my speciality, but I've housesat a variety of houses without pets as well, from a million dollar house to a 900 sq. ft. apartment.

What can they bring to the assignment

Hiring a veterinary student to housesit/petsit for you has its perks ;). I'm a type A person that takes care of somebody's home and animals like they're my own. I'm also a clean freak! There's nothing better in the world than coming home to a sparkling clean home and that's what I would make sure you came home to. I have extensive medical knowledge when it comes to animals. Not enough to be a veterinarian yet, but I'm almost there! I'm absolutely able to take care of any pets that have medical conditions and/or special needs. I'm also trained in CPR in both dogs and cats. Please contact me if you have any questions!
