About this assignment

While some may see pet sitting as a simple exchange for free lodging in return for feeding our cats, it's so much more than that: It's about ensuring our feline friends are healthy, happy, comfortable, and safe.

Our ideal house sitters will make our home their own, as we're quite laid back and simply want someone who will provide the best possible care for our kittens and our space while we're away. We're looking for people who are not just clean and tidy but also great communicators and genuine cat lovers.

What responsibilities are required of the house sitter

1. Ensure our kittens are fed in the morning between 8am and 9am
2. Keep their water bowls filled with fresh water.
3. Regularly clean the cat litter.
4. Maintain the house in the same clean and tidy condition as we left it for you.
5. Provide attention and playtime for our furry friends.

It's important to note that our kittens aren't used to being left alone for extended periods, so ideally we are looking for freelancers working from home or people that will give them some love and attention after taking time to explore the city.

Our male cat can be a bit restless and vocal (never agressive) and may take some time to warm up to you, so your patience is much appreciated.

And finally, while we want you to take good care of them, we also want you to enjoy your time in our beautiful city!

What are the good features of the property and location

Our place is a top floor flat (stairs only).
It's conveniently situated just a 10-minute walk from the train/tram station, making it a perfect base to explore a plethora of Edinburgh attractions on foot or by hopping onto our excellent bus/tram network.

If you're a nature enthusiast, you're in for a real treat! The Union Canal and Roseburn Path, exclusively for bikes and pedestrians, are in close proximity.

You'll find a variety of shopping options nearby, including Lidl, Coop, Sainsbury's, and fantastic italian produce, all just a few minutes away. Additionally, the same street boasts a wide selection of restaurants, cafes and shops.

You are free to use my folding bike, as long and you don't leave it unattended, as bike theft is a huge issue in our city.

What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment

1. We will request a copy of your passport and driver's license for identity verification, along with a signed contract (the standard type provided on this platform) to ensure peace of mind for both parties.

2. We'd like to set up a Zoom call to get to know you better, and for you to become acquainted with us, prior to your stay.
Effective communication and maintaining a friendly connection is essential, as it helps ensure that everything goes smoothly.

3. Please be aware that the house is equipped with sensors (no cameras), which will be active during your stay.

4. To receive all necessary instructions, it's important to arrive at the house the day before my departure.

5. Please refrain from inviting guests unless we've reached an agreement well in advance.

6. One of my cats is a jumpy and a bit scared little darling, so you need patience to handle him.

Can I bring my own pets?

No, sorry.

Testimonials

Fantastic stay!

I had a great stay at Noelia's and Pablo's in central Edinburgh. The apartment was in a great spot close to all amenities and central attractions and also many nice walking and cycling spots along the canal and Water of Leith. I was made very welcome during the handover and given lots of local information. Both the cats Gertie and Fergus were so affectionate and a pleasure to be around... Great little characters.. And great hosts, was a pleasure to meet all. Highly recommend all-round :))
