A very pleasant assignment with an adorable cat

I spent ten days in october 19 to John's apartment with the adorable Lily. John is really a welcoming person and well organised. He previously sent all the information by email I will need during my stay : how to feed Lily, the apartment convenience, the building, the area and a lot of useful tips. It was a great idea because you don't have to deal with all this stuff after a long flight ! Lily is a lovely cat who needs a lot of attention. She was always on my laps asking for cuddles and it was really pleasant for a cat lover like me ! John's apartment is very well located in north Manhattan, close to Columbia University and Harlem. The neighborhood is very lively and you can find all needed : supermarket, coffees, restaurants, etc the area, Morningside Height, is well connected : two subway stations close to the apartment if you want to visit Manhattan or Brooklyn or both ;) I highly recommend this cat sitting assignment, you will really enjoy your meeting with John, a very nice person and Lily, such a lovable cat !

My West Side story

I have twice been a house-sitter for John. He is a very kind and helpful host and remains a friend. His one-bedroom apartment is spacious, well-equipped and comfortable. I like the Upper West Side location between the grand campus of Columbia University and the vibrancy of Harlem. It's not a tourist area, and that's a good thing for me. Two subway stations are a short walk away (including the express A line) providing excellent links to the rest of the city. Enough shops and restaurants nearby, and a few jazz venues. It's close to Riverside Park and Morningside Park (which almost connects to Central Park), so a good area for walks. There is a stop for the tour buses by Riverside Park. (I haven't met Lily the cat yet, as I stayed during the reign of Sophie, RIP.)
