About this assignment

Someone who loves pets as we do.Trust worthy, respects our home and belongings .......someone who is happy taking the dogs out for their regular walks.

Someone who really wants a chill out relaxing break.

What responsibilities are required of the house sitter

Feed Daisy, who will be a 3 year old labrador in April and India, who is a 7 year old labradoodle, both are well behaved and intelligent ( 2 x dogs fed at 8am and 4pm approx). Then walk them after their food up the lane, which is about 1km, morning and afternoon.

Feed Sky (the cat at the same time as the dogs .........let her come and go as she pleases.

Feed the hens when you get up and again in the afternoon, between 2.30pm - 4pm.

Shut the hens in when it begins to go dark (they go into the house themselves....there are 3 hens).

We have a chambre d'hote and gite which will be closed.

Due to the time of year the swimming pool will need to be cleaned daily, which we will demonstrate to you what needs to be done (15 minutes a day is all that is required) and our garden and plants will need watering, dependent on the weather.

However, it is important that you keep our home clean and tidy during your stay, thank you.

Eat all the fresh eggs...........That's about it!

What are the good features of the property and location

There are a lot of places to visit, including some well know tourist places. Our town, supermarket, shops, restaurants and bars are within easy reach within a couple of minutes. We have a lot of friends, so a great network of people, you might like to get to know.

What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment

Nothing at all really, apart from the fact that India, Daisy, Sky and the hens have their daily routine with their feed time and walks. Our pets are everything to us and we want to feel comfortable with our sitters.

Can I bring my own pets?

No, sorry.

Testimonials

Hautes-Pyrénées with India, Daisy and Puddy

Julie and Andy made us welcome to their beautiful home with a fabulous meal on our arrival and breakfast on our first morning. They gave very clear instructions on how to feed and tend the two dogs, cat and hens and our other duties. Julie had told us in advance that the dogs fetched Puddy in at night and sure enough when told to they went looking for the cat and brought her in. The hens provided us with fresh eggs and what with tomatoes and water melons we ate healthy. The swimming pool was a fantastic way to cool down during the day and in the evening. Andy showed me how to maintain it which was quickly performed in the morning before breakfast. We got out and about daily going to visit an ancient castle and for drives or walks in the local countryside. Overall a relaxing 10 day break was enjoyed.

A great House sit

Andy and Julie are a most hospitable couple who showed us the ropes in their 19th Century farm house as well as cooking for us! The two dogs India and Daisy are a delight and we had a lot of fun walking them. Puddy the cat is a real character, and the two hens - well they lay eggs......We were genuinely sad to leave, and hope to return at some point in the future.

Lovely in every way!

Jules and Andy were superb partners for our second pet and house sit through the MindMyHouse platform. From start to finish, they ensured that we were fully informed about every aspect of the experience and went out of their way to ensure that we felt welcomed, comfortable, and appreciated. They prepared a lovely vegetarian dinner for us upon arrival and kindly left us with delicious baked goods, wine, and other treats, and armed us with information about their pets, home, and the local area. Their kindness and generosity moved us. Caring for their animal family was the icing on the cake! Their sweet, adorable, and well-mannered pup India is a joyful companion, and we relished our time with her. She accompanied us on country walks and short and longer excursions by car to explore the stunningly gorgeous area. Their kitty, Puddy, is affectionate and mellow, and it was fun to watch her playful interaction with India. The hens were also fun and easy to mind. Jules and Andy’s home is beautiful and well-equipped, and we were more than comfortable during our stay. If you’re looking for a peaceful retreat with wonderful people and pets, we highly recommend this sit!

Quiet house with dogs, cats and chicken

Julie and Andy have a lovely home outside of a small market town. The house is beautiful and well organized. All the details for the animals were clear and easy to follow, and the dogs were an absolute joy. The small expat community were friendly and helpful. There were fires to keep the house warm and friendly neighbours. A lovely house sit.
