About this assignment
I moved house on the Monday and my husband died on the Tuesday.Iam looking for someone reliqble to look after the house and my precious pets to enqble me to spend Christmas with the family in the UK
What responsibilities are required of the house sitter
I have one dog, Mollie who is 14' years old and the most beatiful cat who is now3years old. As I only moved house in November the garden has yet to be tackled so can be ignored and simple maitenan of the housewill be rquired.
What are the good features of the property and location
The foothills of the Pyrenees are beautiful, and far less developed than the Alps. There are walks aplenty,and the area is renowned for cycling. The Tour de France comes here most years Climbers love the area.
But, with all this wild beauty on your doorstep, you are only 15 minutes away from the historic town of Foix, with all its shops and fascinating history.
Ski-ing, snow boarding and snowshoeing is only an hour away, at Ax les Thermes. In an hour and a quarter you can be in Andorra, with its kilometers of pistes.
The house itself is more than comfortable. Designed and built by my architect husband, it has 4 bedrooms, a large and welcoming sitting room, opening onto a huge terrace surrounded by exotic plants.
What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment
They need to understand the trust I am putting in them, and need to be fully committed to the care of our and house and pets.They will also need transport.

Housesit in the Ariege
We have enjoyed two lovely housesits, of six weeks each time, with Molly, Tess and Taliban. Molly and Tess, border collies, are beautifully behaved and a joy to go walking with. They have a set routine for mealtimes etc and it is important to keep this for them. Taliban is a lively little cat that we first met as a very young kitten. He has heaps of personality and loves to play. He’s also happy to accompany you when you walk with Tess and Molly. Virginia and Barry have a spacious warm house and a large garden. Barry grows fabulous tomatoes in his greenhouses. There are chickens to look after that give a steady supply of eggs. Barry and Virginia are very welcoming and left good instructions for the care of the house and anumals. Nearby Foix is a lovely town, well supplied with supermarkets, shops and restaurants. In summary, Barry and Vieginia offer a great housesitting experience.
