Longterm house sitting in Switzerland

About this assignment

We are looking for an elderly couple without children, who look after our house end of July until mid September 2025, exact end date can be flexible. We expect the housesitters to look carefully and with respect to our home and garden and expect them to have experience in keeping a household and a garden. In return you will live in a natural environment, with lots of opportunities for exploring Switzerland

What responsibilities are required of the house sitter

You will live in our house, with 2 bathrooms, 3 bedrooms, kitchen and livingroom and need to keep the house clean on a regulaty basis. Inhouse plants need to be watered, as well as large plants in pots in the garden. Furthermore you need to look after the garden like mow the lawn and look after the vegetable garden, and feat the turtles and the fish in the pond. In return you can eat the vegatables and fruits growing in the garden.

What are the good features of the property and location

Our house is located 15km from the city Bern, which can easely be reached by public transportation. From the balcony one has a 180 degree view over some lakes and the Swiss alps. There is no direct road near the house, so it's extremely quit.The next crocery is 2.5 km in the next village and can be reach walking or by bicycle (2 are available to use). The next supermarket is 10km away. From Innerberg many daytrips can be made with public transportation. Behind the village Innerberg there are large woods, for hicking. In the house in the basement is an small studio appartment, where your "neighbour" lives. Both parties use the washingmachine in the basement. In the basement there is also a sauna. If you bring your own car, there is a garage, which can be used.

What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment

Potential house sitters need to concider that in general Switzerland is an expensive country. Furthermore there are neighbours with young children, as well as one person living in the studio in the basement.
