About this assignment
Hi! I'm looking for someone who loves cats as much as I do!
My little girl Mona is a free roaming cat, but loves to be with people, when she knows them a bit better. (she likes to snuggle up in the night) She is wearing a tracker and she would love someone around, when I'm away. Maybe someone who can work remotely?
I travelled the past 22 years the world and did a lot of house and pet sitting, so now it would be just absolutely great, if I could find someone who looks after my pet as enthusiastic as I did for so many years!
My ideal cat sitter would come over during the year a couple of times to stay in the winter for a longer stretch. I'd love having someone reliable who is part of Monas life when I'm abroad.
But right now I'm looking for someone who is available for 3 weeks from beginning of January 2025.
What responsibilities are required of the house sitter
First priority: Looking after Mona: Playing, feeding etc.... (she has a litter box, but prefers the garden)
Charge the tracker... - walk with her. Yes! She enjoys walks just like a dog. (without leash) - And another bonus: In the evening, when I want her to stay in during the night, I just have to whistle with the dog whistle and she'll be there in just some minutes! :)
Sending me informations about her via WA - and stay in contact.... - I really need to know how my little girl is...
Looking after my indoor plants and post.
Keeping my appartment clean and tidy.
What are the good features of the property and location
I live in a small village 10 min walk to the Black Forest, in the south west of Germany 5 min walk to a beautiful castle / castle park called Schloß Favorit. My unit is calm, 75qm, wifi, Terrasse and garden patch, a bit wild, green and arty.
I live only 15 min from Baden-Baden and 25 min away from Karlsruhe.
My village is a magnificant place for mountain biking and hiking!
I have a Mountainbike, a holland bicycle and a van. We can talk about you lending it.... :)
What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment
I'd love someone looking after my precious fur ball for some weeks in my holidays. (right now I'm a school teacher, so pretty predictable holidays ,)
I used to travel every year for 2,5 months in the German winter but stopped it, when Mona moved in. I feel so close to her, that I don't wanna leave her behind for 2,5 months. But if I'd find a great warm cat sitter, I could imagine to travel for 3 - 6,7,8 ... weeks.
I'd love to have someone here for more than once. If Mona gets used to the person, it would be great to do more often sitting and longer stretches. Just as I said, - I used to travel up to 3 months.... and I still have the travel buck!

Great housesit with the sweetest cat in a beautiful region
Stephanie is a kind and warm person, who made me feel welcome since I arrived. We had good contact from the start, and had open and clear communication. She was so nice to pick me up from the train station. She was very hospitable and caring during my arrival, and making my stay at her flat comfortable and cosy. She gave clear instructions to care for Mona, who is easy to look after. And when Mona warms up to you, she is very lovely and sweet. The flat is close to the Black Forest, which is a beautiful area for hiking and cycling. She lent me her bikes so I could cycle to the nearby village for the supermarkets, and go to the train station. From the train station, it's possible to make journeys to cities in the area, which are picturesque and magical. Thank you Stephanie for me being able to visit this beautiful area in Germany and looking after your precious Mona!

Fantastic house-sit
I had such a lovely time in this region of Germany as it was the first time I had visited the black forest area which is so beautiful. If you enjoy hiking and nature this is the perfect place and it is so well structured for cycling and getting around. Stephanie's apartment is really nice and peaceful and is just a few minutes walk to the forest and also the beautiful castle park with the village and shops just around ten minutes on the bike which has everything you would need. Most of all, Stephanie was the perfect host, picking me up from the airport and making sure I had everything I needed and lots of information on the area. I was really glad to spend some time with her, although brief, as she is great company and has a great character :)) Mona was adorable and easy to look after and the tracker device is easy to operate. She is not a needy cat and a little cautious at first but she soon warmed to me and enjoyed playing and affection. I would happily come back to visit or to cat-sit again. Thanks Stephanie for this wonderful opportunity to stay at your place and I wish you all the best with your projects and hope to meet up with you again :))

Cozy flat with an adorable cat!
Stef is a lovely home/pet owner who made me feel welcome in her lovely flat! Mona the cat is very sweet and I enjoyed my time with her. The village where Stef lives has great shops, bakeries and there is so much to see! Situated on the edge of the Black Forrest, with access to hiking, biking, castles, mountain top restaurants…. And easy access to the train station! Communication with Stef was easy from day one and she is just the loveliest, most genuine person! I’m grateful our paths have crossed and I have made a new friend!
