About this assignment
We are very friendly people who absolutely love our cats so we would like someone who loves animals like we do. Someone who does gardening would be a huge bonus for us as we have lots of fruit bushes and stuff that needs looking after. We do expect the house to be kept clean and tidy but please make it your own while you are here. We don’t mind couples, singles, whoever. The house is not really suited to a family or children though as we only have one double room as a guest room. You also really need a car while you are here as there is loads to do and see and public transport is not great!
What responsibilities are required of the house sitter
We have 2 cats, the sitter will be responsible for feeding them at least twice a day and give them treats. We would appreciate it if the sitter keeps the house clean and tidy. We keep the cats food mats and dishes clean every day so the sitter will be responsible for this too and give them fresh water of course.
What are the good features of the property and location
We live a 20 minute drive from the Brecon Beacons National Park. Cardiff is an hour on the train, the station is 6 minutes walk from the house. Treorchy is a lovely friendly market town with 3 different supermarkets within walking distance of the house and some nice quirky shops, also lots of cafes. There is a regular bus service to the wider areas but to really get out and about you would need a car. We have storage space for bicycles and we are a 4 mile drive (or bike ride) from parts of the National Welsh cycle track, you can go for miles with some fabulous views. We are also 4 miles from South Wales Zipworld where you can zip line over the valleys, do a roller coaster ride and many other things.
What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment
If people want to go to Brecon or any of the other towns like Abergavenny or Merthyr, a car is essential. There are lots of lovely walks around the area plus we are 10 minutes drive from Zip world

Housesit Treochy
Jayne & Mart, introduced themselves via Whats App and i fopund them very friendly and we had a a good conservation about the cats and the area they lived in. When i arrive at the arranged time, Jayne spent time with me going through the rountine of the cats & the house. Both cats pretty much looked after themselves, but coming to find me in an evening or when they wanted their treats!. The house is situated just off the main high street, so everything was close at hand. Lovely to be able to sit in the garden with views of the hills. Treochy is near the Brecon beacons so plently of areas to also vist and walk. We also kept in touch via Whats App. Thanks for the house sit in was a lovely 2 weeks away.

Visiting Wales
Hi we’re Koos and Ingrid, This was our first house visit. Jayne and Martin are very nice, showed us where everything was and how to use it. We enjoyed it very much. Felix and Taz are two adorable cats and give us no problems. They even talk to us????.
