About this assignment
Reliable people, who care about pets and property like it was their own and love to be immersed in nature and relax. English speakers are preferred.
What responsibilities are required of the house sitter
Feed dogs, hens and horses (depending on the season), keep clean outside, light gardening, relax. We prefer sitters who do not spend the whole day away, but rather enjoy the property. There might be some specific work/task depending on the season.
What are the good features of the property and location
Immersed in Gargano’s National Park, it is 6km from the sea and 12km from the amazing villages of Vieste and Peschici. The weather is quite warm also in winter, with max between 10 and 20 degrees, min above zero. The property is isolated among endless olive groves and forest. Internet is provided by Starlink with fast connection. All amenities and shops are 15’ away by car.
What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment
You have to have a car. We prefer couples as the property is a bit far from “ civilization”. We will provide all neighbors’ contacts though.
Can I bring my own pets?

Stunning setting in nature
We enjoyed our time spent here and would happily return. The nature and scenery are absolutely stunning, the cottage was comfortable and even had good internet. All the animals were a pleasure to look after and were generally very easy. Although Marco will give you all the necessary instruction and information, having some prior experience with a horse / pony / donkey will be useful as little Contessa can be a bit stubborn! We had a good time and can recommend this sit!

La Bella Vita
We spent 5 weeks living at Valecoppa during late November and December. Originally engaged to house and pet sit by the previous owner, with the house having been sold, we ended up being there over the period when Marco was moving in with his lovely wife Lucia and daughter Bianca permanently. It was olive harvest season and along with the menagerie of pets, the nocturnal rumblings of the families of wild boar living in the olive groves we woke to the distant sounds of the olive pickers machines as they got busy with the days olive picking. Despite the remote location of the property, surrounded by nature and not too far from the gorgeous Gargano beaches and primeval forests we thoroughly enjoyed our time living there. If it wasn’t for having already committed to a winter housesit in Southern Spain we would have jumped at the opportunity to return.
