A friendly, caring person or couple who love small dogs to look after Lizzy whilst my partner and I take a short break. She is a nine year old Border Terrier who is very active for her age and loves human company. She will need to be walked daily on the lead and will love to share the sofa with you when you are relaxing.
Lizzy is a friendly dog that loves people and she will enjoy your company. She is fed twice per day (morning and evening) and you will need to take her for walks daily in the local area. Lizzy also enjoys outings in the car if you want to make a day trip and she has her own car carrying case when she travels. Lizzie should not be left alone in the house for long periods of time. However, she can be left for a couple of hours and will love a doggie treat just as you are leaving so give her something to do. She will greet you like a long-lost friend on your return. She will want to be in the bedroom with you overnight and sleeps on our bed in her basket and doesn't disturb us.
Our house is situated in the heart of a charming Cotswold village with plenty of amenities (local shopping, post office, church, restaurants and pubs) and a short walk from the high street. The Thames River Path is also a very short distance from the house which is a great place for walkers. The house has the benefit of off-road parking. The housesitter would have use of the guest double bedroom with en-suite shower room as well as the downstairs living space and kitchen and garden. There is a raised terrace with garden furniture overlooking the back garden and you can step straight out onto the desk from the dining room sliding doors. The kitchen is fully equipped with double electric oven/grill, five burner gas hob, dishwasher and all cooking utensils and cookware. There is also a utility room with washing machine/drier and laundry facilities.
Experience of dog care essential. Own transport would be ideal as there is no train station in the village. The nearest station is Swindon and there is a bus link from there to my location. There is also a bus link from Cirencester to Lechlade.
No, sorry.

Lovely people and an adorable dog
I have enjoyed house sitting for Malcolm and Frances on several occasions and found them to be welcoming hosts. Lizzie is sweet and affectionate, likes going for walks and playing with her toys (which she will even tidy away herself at the end of the day). She also loves sitting on my lap to watch TV and is very companionable. Their home is warm, comfortable and peaceful. Lechlade village has everything you need, including two convenience shops and supermarkets are within 10 minutes drive. I would happily sit for them again.
