House, Garden & Cat in small Village on the edge of the Blackforest

About this assignment

I am looking for a responsible person or couple with some technical understanding or craftsman skills to look after my house, the cat and the fishes in the aquarium.

What responsibilities are required of the house sitter

I need someone to take care of our cat, that lives in and outside the house.
We have a small (60 liters) aquarium, so the fish need to be feeded and once a week a part of the water needs to be replaced by fresh water.
Mow the lawn once a week.

And there's something special about this house (no ghosts though):
There is a shaft outside the house with two water pumps in it. These work automatically and pump away the groundwater to keep the cellar of the house dry. But if there is a power blackout or pump breakdown, the house sitter will have to take action to prevent water from getting into the house. But I do have alarm settings that leave some time to react, and to calm you down, that happened about 2 times in 10 years.

What are the good features of the property and location

You will take care of a free standing house in a very calm surrounding. We live in a small village near a small town on the edge of the Blackforest. We have a big, beautiful garden to relax in.
You can hike or bike right away from the house.
Tourist attractions like Triberg, Titisee, Lake of Constance, Castle of Hohenzollern and many others are all within a 30-60 Minutes drive away. The city of Freiburg you can reach in about 80 Minutes, Stuttgart within 70 Minutes.

What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment

Public transport is not very convenient here, but there is. So if you want to visit some places, you are better off if you have your own transport. The village you will be living in, is about 3km away from a little town where you can buy everything you need.
