About this assignment

Our home, pets and garden are fairly self-sufficient when we're away. We are an American family of four (living in Germany since 2011). Our pets do not always travel well, and our grass and pool requires light upkeep.

We have three weeks in summer 2025 - we're still a bit flexible with dates.

What responsibilities are required of the house sitter

- Refill animal bowls as needed - we keep out dry food.
- Binky, Gracie, and Bloom are sibling Main Coons. Their day consists of laying around the house, garden and neighbours, treats, sleeping.
- Walk dogs. Splat is a 9 year-old, friendly, curious, 19 kilo black labra-doodle mixed-mut. Sweetie is a 1 year-old, curious, loving, 10 kilo black Patterdale terrier mixed-mut. Their day consists of playing together, laying around, treats, walks/hikes, sleeping, treats. They'll perform basic tricks, mostly for a treat.
- Mow 5x10 meter grass yard as needed (electric push mower).
- Water indoor plants as needed.
- Fish aquarium has a feeder on a timer - they're good with that.
- Weekly pool filter check and add liquid nutrients.

What are the good features of the property and location

Lovely 200 square meter, 2-story, full-kitchen, 3-bedroom, 2 1/2 bath, 4K TV, ceiling fans, with full-standing freezer and washer and dryer. Quiet residential area, home is walking distance to grocery stores, restaurants, local shops, outdoor Summer Music downtown, and nature trails in woods. There are extensive leisure bike tours to the 14 watermills in the urban area (many with restaurants), as well as nature parks, ponds and streams. Enjoy use of our 12x4 m natural swimming pond, expansive decks, lounge furniture and shade umbrellas, 4 m trampoline (up to 120 kilos), adult swing, and roller slide. We have indoor and outdoor WiFi and Netflix and Prime Video streaming. We have outdoor-perimeter 4k security cameras for your comfort. The station to bahnhof.de is a ten minute walk.

What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment

To apply: the sitter enjoys and is familiar with daily check-in on pets and home in an urban / nature city. Possibilities for outdoor and indoor excursions are plentiful and/or just relaxing at home. We need a firm offer for the duration when applying to stay.
