I am looking for someone that is honest, reliable, and has experience with cats, dogs, rabbits, and equines. You would be comfortable driving a truck and watering plants too. You are appreciative, respectful, and have excellent communication skills. And...you have been looking forward to visiting San Diego, California for a long time but the right opportunity never came along, until now.
Responsibilities will include feeding and cleaning for 1+1 ponies (including meds), 1 + 2 indoor dogs #25lbs, 1 indoor cat (including meds) & 2 indoor house rabbits. Playing fetch with the pups and taking them for runs around the yard (no off property walking required, only yard time). The property is fully fenced 1 acre (0.405 hectar). The responsibilities are required morning and evening so while you may be away during the day you must be home in the evenings and mornings. Also monitor and water potted plants around the yard. Take out trash/bring in mail/ other small tasks as agreed to.
If you are an experienced driver you may be allowed to use the pick up truck for local excursions. Private and peaceful location! San Diego is a destination city with many things to do.
You must have direct and extensive experience with all types of animals listed. Cat is elderly - you need a watchful eye to monitor for any changes; dogs (cattle dog mix) are very active, can be barky/reactive; bunnies are prey animals and can mask illness - do you know what to look for? Equines are large, can move quickly and I need a very experienced person with hands on experience (A true horseman/woman that knows about equine health issues and can see if something is amiss.) An experienced and excellent driver (in case of animal emergency is ideal). COVID vaccination is required and proof needs to be provided. There are exterior security cameras on the property. A minimum of three references is requested. Non-smokers only please.
Did you get that far? Usually the kitty sleeps during the day, she is elderly and needs medication. Pups are happy as long as they've had a fair amount of time playing fetch. The equines are a lot of work no lie, in addition to cleaning there is soaking hay, medicating, and grooming. The bunny, she's easy...but you do need to know what to look for...and I can teach you. Everyone is healthy (or on the road to getting healthy) and happy...
You need strength and stamina to run this household herd. Schlepping manure bins up and down hills, playing ball (as long as it's not hot outside - heat stroke can be a real issue), cleaning litter boxes, watering plants. If you got this far and are still interested I'd love to hear from you. Let me know what you know!
No, sorry.
