About this assignment

Hello! We will be gone 4-6 weeks in March/April 2025 and are looking for someone to take care of the plants, cats, and mind the house.

What responsibilities are required of the house sitter

Our house sitter would be responsible for feeding and taking care of our two cats. They are indoor/outdoor; always coming back in the evening. They have litterboxes in the basement that will need to be cleaned every few days. They do not require any medications but they do love treats!

We also have over 50 house plants that will need occasional watering.

We also have 40+ house plants that will need to be watered once or twice.

Trash and recycling are put out on Wednesday nights. Shoveling may be required if there is snow. We would ask that you keep the house clean as well.

What are the good features of the property and location

Our house is cozy and well-kept. It is a 5-10 minute drive to downtown Portland. Our home is also in front of a bus stop. Many lovely beaches are a short 15-20 minute drive away. We can provide a plethora of recommendations for activities, restaurants, and more! There is a remote work set up in the guest room with fast Wifi. Our TV has Max, Hulu, Disney+, Amazon Video. A car may be available for use!

What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment

The only bathroom is upstairs. Shoveling may be required in the winter. The cats love to snuggle so you must be comfortable with them being close. We will want to video chat with any potential sitters ahead of time.
