About this assignment

The perfect house sitter would be reliable, trustworthy, independent, caring, positive and respectful :) I am looking for an individual who can follow my rules with the dogs as they only are allowed in the garden, not outside the property (due to the village stray dogs which can be a problem)

What responsibilities are required of the house sitter

Just to be there with my two lovely dogs and do simple cleaning and maintenance. If they want to pick up additional tasks, I am gladly considering a deal also (I am a member of volunteering sites as well and I also receive volunteers from time to time for the seasonal works).

What are the good features of the property and location

Nature, big garden, flowers and fruit trees, good wi-fi. I have also a TV with Netflix, there are hills and people can go hiking. For garden and fruit lovers, there are some fruits like apples, pears, grapes, depending on the season. It is a quiet location for people who want to recharge or work remotly. For winter time, it can be a bit rough if the let sitter doesn't have experience with wood stoves.

What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment

This is a small house with just 2 rooms (kitchen and bedroom). There is no central heating, the stove and oven are running on electrical power. The bus connections to Cluj-Napoca city are not too good (just a couple a day) and locals do not speak much English so they might lack socializing. Also in winter time the heating is done with stoves and wood pallets which can be uncomfortable for people who have no experience of that or prefer the apartment comfort.

Can I bring my own pets?

No, sorry.

An Unforgettable Peacefull Retreat :)

My experience at Bianca's home has been absolutely beautifull and transformative. From the very beginning, Bianca proved to be an exceptional person, with deep values and a generosity that truly touched me. She made sure my stay was perfect, taking care of every detail and always being attentive to anything I might need. Bianca's dogs are simply adorable. They are protective of their surroundings but incredibly loving and affectionate with those who care for them. It was a pleasure to be surrounded by such sweet and gentle companions. The house itself is a true paradise: Amazingly clean and It’s fully equipped with every appliance you could possibly need, including a brand-new, dream kitchen, which was a delight for me as someone who loves to cook. The view of the forest and mountains is breathtaking, and the fact that you can go trekking in the area makes it the perfect spot for nature lovers. The big garden, with more than four different species of fruit trees and a vineyard, became one of my favorite places, where each morning I could enjoy fresh organic apples straight from the tree. The internet in this place is surprisingly good. I was actually amazed by how excellent the connection is in Romania, which made my stay even more comfortable. Besides Bianca's incredible hospitality, the sense of community here really stood out: The neighbors are wonderful people, always willing to help, and I had the pleasure of sharing short conversations, and even exchanging fresh produce with them (I recieve a lot of tomato as a warm welcome). This warmth and positive energy in the neighborhood made me feel welcome from day one. I came here seeking an experience that would reconnect me with my senses and bring me inner peace, and I’m leaving with a profound understanding of Romanian culture and traditions with a big smile. Despite my initial fears, I found Romania to be an incredibly safe country, with noble people who are protective and possess strong values. Traveling solo here was not only safe but one of the most human and pleasant experiences I've ever had :) I highly recommend this place to anyone seeking an authentic and enriching experience. I'm leaving with a heart full of gratitude and unforgettable memories. Thank you, Bianca, for everything! I will definitely be back!
