About this assignment

We are looking for an active couple that like to spend time outdoors with our pets. We live below a lovely trail system, and our dogs love to go for walks and hikes. We also have fenced 1/2 acre around our house, and they love to chase sticks and balls, and pretty much anything else that is thrown.

What responsibilities are required of the house sitter

Caring for both dogs, which is easy. Max needs meds, but they just get dropped in her bowl at feeding time, which happens twice a day. They get walked twice a day, but would go as often as you want to take them. We have plants that need watering, both indoors and outdoors. Taking the garbage/recycle to the street every Tuesday. We stop the mail, but if any packages arrive, putting them in the garage for safe-keeping. Being mindful of our house rules when it comes to the dogs.

What are the good features of the property and location

We live in a newly remodeled home on 5 acres in the woods within the city limits of Ashland. We are a 5-10 minute drive from everywhere in town. We live up a fairly steep hill, so the walk to town is easy--the walk back a little more difficult.

We have fenced in 1/2 acre of our property for the dogs to roam in, and are in the process of getting it landscaped. There are walking and hiking trails outside our door.

What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment

A car is necessary for grocery shopping and tooling about. We had a bad experience when we let someone use our car, so we are not willing to allow the use of our car.

Can I bring my own pets?

Yes
Restrictions: Our dogs love other dogs! I used to foster dogs, and Max was like a service dog for those dogs. We have a group of friends here and most of them have dogs, too, so we always get together with dogs in tow. They all love to come here.
