A calm and responsible person / couple who enjoys the company of a cat and has some experience with the day-to-day care of a wooden house.

What responsibilities are required of the house sitter

Taking care of cat and five chickens. The chickens are low maintenance (feed them daily and retrieve any eggs), and our very social and loving cat mostly needs company when he's inside. Belly rubs optional but much appreciated. Keeping the house in a similar order to when we left it. On the off chance of snow fall, some shoveling will be needed.

What are the good features of the property and location

A quiet location, with rural feeling but only 30 minutes by public transport to the centre of Gothenburg. Next to a forest, with good opportunities for short or long walks, or trail running. The nearby tiny lake offers swimming for those inclined. The wood stove in the living room will warm you up after a day in the outdoors, and there will be plenty of fire wood ready for use. WiFi and most of the streaming services will keep you entertained, together with the 300 or so DVD library. Two bikes are available for use.

What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment

The closest grocery store is 2 km away (but there are several of them just by the train stop) - it's a comfortable walk, bus- or bike ride if you do not bring your own transport. Being free to go outdoors, the cat will sometimes bring his own supper inside (the occasional unlucky mouse).
