About this assignment
We are looking for a confident, responsible and experienced person/couple to look after our two dogs (Norman; a male Dogue de Bordeaux/Presa Canaria cross, and Iggy; a female Cane Corso, both 6 years old), for a few days over Christmas.
What responsibilities are required of the house sitter
Your main responsibility is keeping the dogs company while we're away. If you're in the garden, they like to be there too. And in the evenings, they like to lay by the fire in the living room. They enjoy a short walk, but it's easier walking them separately, and they must be on the lead.
What are the good features of the property and location
We live in a semi-detached house in the beautiful village of West Lulworth, very close to Lulworth Cove and Durdle Door. There are loads of walking and hiking routes right on our doorstep, and several places to eat out within walking distance.
What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment
Norman is affectionate, to the point of being a bit needy :) Both dogs are strong and do pull when out on the lead though, so they need strong and confident carers/walkers, and experience of large breeds is recommended. It's more company for the dogs and some outside time (even just in the garden) for the few days we're away.

Christmas 2019
We thoroughly enjoyed our two week stay at Kate and Ade's house in Vico. Very welcoming couple the dogs were a delight to be with. Set within a stunning mountainous area with lots of trekking and an opportunity to climb Belzo Nero a well signed climb. Excellent restaurant within walking distance very friendly community. Lots of opportunities to explore local villages and landmarks within an hour's drive from their lovely home. A fantastic experience for our first house sitting abroad.

3 fantastic lively and energetic dogs in a beautiful area of Italy!
We have housesat for Kate, Ade and family many times over these past four plus years, most recently in September 2019 and were especially excited not only to see Doris again but to meet the two new members of the family Norman and Iggy!!...all are really great fun! We absolutely love taking them anywhere we go. In towns and villages they are on lead, Norman and Iggy are (approx) year old puppies fairly boisterous as you'd expect and out on walks by the rivers and in the woods they have incredible fun but always return to a whistle. Kate and family are super welcoming and very easy going and have always made us feel part of the family. The area is outstandingly beautiful from the small city of Lucca to all the hill top towns and mountain villages endless possibilities of walks and treks and within easy driving distance of the sea and some long stretches of public beach. We always take up an offer to housesit for them if we are able and would highly recommend to anyone who loves dogs, energetic walks and the most beautiful outdoors.
