Country getaway offering peace and great views

Responsible, reliable person/s preferably with some interest in plants, animals and nature generally. Although Christchurch is only 40 minutes drive away, this property will probably not suit town lovers.

What responsibilities are required of the house sitter

Looking after our ten year old cat who requires no special treatment apart from feeding in the morning and evening and lots of fuss (when she's ready!). This means that the sitter will generally need to be at home morning and night on a daily basis, although one night away occasionally, might be ok if the cat's food bowl is loaded up.
We have a small plant nursery which should need very little attention as it will be winter and the plants will be dormant.

What are the good features of the property and location

Relatively modern house with en-suite bedrooms. Large living/dining/kitchen area with a log burner and heat pump. Lots of large windows offering amazing views in all directions - mountains, sea and vineyards.
We are situated in one of New Zealand's principal wine growing regions, about 10kms from the nearest town, Amberley, which has many cafes and shops including a large supermarket.
It is about a forty minute drive into Christchurch which is the main city in South Island and has many attractions making it a major tourist destination.

What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment

We are rural! There is no public transport so driving is pretty much a necessity to go anywhere. We have an old but reliable Toyota Corolla station wagon that is available if required.

Can I bring my own pets?
