About this assignment

We are looking for a very responsible couple or small family who would enjoy staying at our new (built in 2019) 4 bedroom modern farmhouse with our 2 dogs: Cooper (the Golden Retriever) and Marley (our English Cocker Spaniel). We live on just under 5 acres in an area that can get lots of snow in the winter months and has mature garden beds in the summer months that will require a little maintenance; we will need people who can handle some outside labor: namely snowplowing the driveway on the riding tractor, and weeding in the summer.

What responsibilities are required of the house sitter

We have 2 dogs that will need to be looked after. Daily walk: around the quiet neighborhood or up the surrounding canyons is perfect!
The garden will need some light weeding possibly, depending on the season and length of time house sitting the property.
The trash must be taken down to the end of the driveway 1x/week.
Mail needs to be brought up and stored for us.
In the winter we snowplow our own driveway on a ride-on John Deer: this will need to be maintained in the winter for accessibility.

What are the good features of the property and location

Our neighborhood is very quiet with just 4 current very kind neighbors. Our house sits a top a small hill that backs up to a huge cattle field at the base of the Teton Mountain range that most of the year has no cattle and thus invites all sorts of animals to gather. It is very likely you will see herds of elk in that field, coyote, fox, and deer. We see Bald eagles, and hawks daily in the summer/fall and winter and often hear owls that perch on our roof in search of prey.
We have a 6 person hot tub which we have serviced weekly to maintain it. We have a brand new outdoor kitchen grill and wood pellet pizza oven for your use.
We have 4 bedrooms available: the master with an attached bathroom and walk in closet. There is a large soaking tub and nice separate shower. We then have 3 bedrooms on the other side of the house with a full bath in-between,. There is a separate powder room on the master side of the house as well.
There is a main living room with a gas fireplace as well as a separate Den space equipped with large TV's and then a "kids" playroom space upstairs with yet another large TV and full bathroom.
We will have mountain bikes, kayaks, and all sorts of toys for kids and adults available to use. And 1 indoor garage space.
Our house is only 45 minutes from Jackson Hole Wyoming and 1.5 hours from Teton National Park, 2.5 hours from Yellowstone. This is the perfect property to stay at if you want to come explore some of the most beautiful places in the United States.
We have famous Targhee Ski resort just a 1/2 hour drive from the house too, which opens in November. There is mountain biking in the summer and fall and world class skiing in the winter.

What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment

For our 4 month house sitter the monthly utilities will have to be maintained by the house sitter. We will continue to have the hot tub maintained at our expense. We will have the propane tank filled prior to our leaving...upon our return whatever amount of propane that was used needs to be filled back to full at the house sitters expense. *Our 2 dogs are easy, they are sweet and obedient and very family friendly. They need a walk every day but are content after that, we just open our door to let them out whoever they want and then they come back when they need/want to come back inside.
We can provide plowing service numbers if you'd prefer to have the driveway plowed by a professional instead of snowplowing it yourself after every snow. Unless you are used to snow maintenance that might be the preferred method, it can snow a lot here!
This is our full-time home, we will expect whomever accepts this assignment to treat our home like it is your own: with love and care, just as we would treat any persons home ourselves!!

Can I bring my own pets?

No, sorry.
