About this assignment

Hello.

I have a house in the countryside 45 minutes south of Valencia in Spain with some land, 4 chickens and 2 rescue pigeons. I will be spending more time in Germany this year and I am looking for someone responsible to live in my house and look after the land and animals while I am not here.

It would be long term - months at least. Ideally the person would have experience with animals and regenerative farming and have their own transport.

Because of the animals the person wouldn't be able to bring any pets (unless they are chicken and pigeon-friendly) and the property isn't really suitable for young children.

What responsibilities are required of the house sitter

Daily feeding of chickens and rescue pigeons, garden maintenance. Generally keeping the house lived in :) but no house maintenance above normal keeping it clean would be needed.

It is in the countryside, about 5 minutes to a town and 45 minutes to the closest airport.

What are the good features of the property and location

The property is very quiet, but there are neighbours around all year - more in summer as people come out to their summer houses and swimming pools.

The house is near the mountains and 30 minutes to the Valencia region beaches, there is a large swimming pool that we drained but you could fill it and use it if wanted.

Good wifi connection (I work remotely and never had issues with large online meetings or presenting).

Lovely old house, double glazed, recently decorated. Garden filled with birds and flowers.

What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment

It would require someone physically fit as there is a hectare of land. Ideally someone with their own car. It gets very hot here in summer.

Can I bring my own pets?

Yes
Restrictions: Only animals that get on with chickens and don't disturb the biodiversity (absolutely no cats sorry but dogs and other animals - possibly).
