About this assignment
Looking for someone who can mind our 3 pets. Our sitter has to be trustworthy and responsible. You should enjoy contact with animals, be confident and honest. Please ask any questions you might have.
What responsibilities are required of the house sitter
Looking after our cat and two dogs. Our dog's names are Tigger & Lunka Tigger is about 11 years old. He is very friendly and loves walks. He sleeps indoors, in the kitchen. Lunka is 4 years old, full of energy fox terrier,slightly anxious at times. Our cat's name Lusia likes to come in and out of the house. She sleeps most nights in. The 3 pets have to be fed once a day and let outside regularly.
What are the good features of the property and location
It is an old semi detached country house with a stove in the sitting room and a large kitchen. No luxuries.. We are a busy working family so the house is far from beeing spotless clean but we hope you will find it welcoming and cosy. The house is surrounded by a big garden and a green field. with sheep. "Fuery's"pub with traditional irish food is not far, 5 min on the bike. Please note: There is no shops or other amenities within a walking distance. There are two main roads near the house. Bicycles available. Enfield and Longwood are 20 minutes away by bike. 3 minutes by car. There is a 4 star hotel in Enfield (Johnstown House Hotel) with a very nice Leisure Centre, swimming pool, gym and Spa. Dublin is only 45 minutes from Enfield by bus or train. Trim with its castle or Maynooth with nice walks and university buildings only 20 min away by car. Royal Canal Route is 5 minutes away by bike.
Fast internet access and tv with Netflix.
What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment
Our cat Lucia likes to come in and out. Trigger & Lunka like to play in the garden. They love long walks along the Royal Canal. However if you choose to rely on bicycle only and you will have no car only short walk near the house will be enough for them. You will be expected to be in the house during the night (every night). And let Lunka out early in the morning.
You will need to cycle to Enfield or Longwood to get shopping unless you have a car (best option) taxi service available too. Village can also be accessed by Royal Cannal Route (very nice walk or cycle) but it takes a bit longer (25min on the bike, 60min walk).

Fabulous Home + Sweet Pets
I stayed at this home for a month in August 2023 and it was an absolute pleasure! The garden is so lovely and peaceful and the pups + kitty are so sweet. Taking the dogs for walks along the canal is really enjoyable, especially with all the wildflowers blooming along the path. Danuta is very easy to communicate and coordinate with. I would definitely sit here again!

A Faerytale
This was our first house sitting and it was just perfect. The house seems to come from a fairytale, with a beautiful garden where we spent most of the time. It's located in a good point to visit Dublin (45 min drive) , and the gorgeous country aerea. There are busses and trains to get everywhere. Plus it's close to the Royal Canal and you can get in the nearest town by bycicle (good groceries, restaurants, coffee shops). Trigger and Lucia, the dog and the cat we took care are just lovely. A special mention to the owner, Danuta and her family. They were so kind and generous with us. We traveled with our kids (the little girl was 10 months old) and they did so many things to make us feel home. We will never thank them enough!

Mature responsible caring person for your home and pets.
I stayed 2 1/2 weeks at Danka and Marcin's house with their sweet dogs Princess and Trigger. This was my first overseas house sitting job I could not have had a better experience. Danka's house and garden are comfortable, beautiful and everything is very, very sweet. I loved puttering in the garden taking the dogs for walks and sitting in the patio for tea and reading. The location is central. Close to Dublin and an easy drive to other areas in Ireland. Also close to the Royal Canal Trail which is a gloriously beautiful place to walk. Communication with Danka and Marcin is good. I got to meet them and their two beautiful girls as I was on my way leaving Ireland and they were so warm and friendly to me. Treated me like family and Danka fed me and even packed a goodie bag for the trip. I highly recommend this house sit and I may even try to go back again. It really felt like home to me and I was terribly sad to leave.

Beautiful home & lovely dogs
I was very lucky to spend 3 weeks in Danka & Marcin’s lovely house near Dublin. They were both very kind and helpful, made me feel at home and provided me with information of things to see around, and I had a great time with their dogs, who are very cute and friendly. I absolutely recommend housesitting for them. Thank you again for trusting me with your home!

Lovely people, lovely place :)
I was blessed to mind Danuta's place. Peaceful, quiet house with beautiful garden. And the dogs! Lovely creatures - I really appreciated their company, we are friends now;) I didn't get a chance to spend a lot of time with Danuta and Marcin but I am happy I met them and I felt welcomed. Lovely people, lovely place:)
