About this sitter
Available due to cancellation between 6/7 to 18/19 January in Southern England.
Hello from Joy and Tony (64 & 68). We have recently returned to live in the UK (in Pershore) after living in Spain for 14 years. In our "previous" life, Tony was a Detective with Northamptonshire Police and Joy also worked for the Police as a Case Builder. We are fit & active animal lovers with a sense of adventure, enjoying new experiences. It's nice to live life like a local!
Why they want to house sit
We love to explore other areas so if you fancy time away leaving your pets, house and garden in safe hands, get in touch. It's nice to be able to experience an area whilst 'living' there. We are animal lovers and will care for your pets as if they are our own.
Their experience
We have housesat for several different people in different countries and they have all returned home happy! We have looked after a variety of animals from dogs and cats to sheep, pigs, horses, goats and chickens.
We previously lived in the Spanish countryside and have a pool so we are experienced with general & pool maintenance & gardens.
We have also used housesitters ourselves so know what the expectations are & we think we fit the criteria well to do it in return.
What can they bring to the assignment
As we regularly used house/dogsitters ourselves we can appreciate the understandable anxieties people would have in turning their home and much-loved pets over to 'strangers'. We would want to reassure homeowners that their home and pets will receive the care you would expect and hopefully more.
We are trustworthy, reliable, caring and sensible people. We also both have a strong sense of responsibility and security, therefore you can leave your home in the knowledge that we will look after it as we would our own home.
We had 3 rescue dogs in Spain but have sadly recently lost the last of them so we still think 'doggy'!

Very grateful homeowners
Joy and Tony did an excellent job for us while we were away. We spent one evening together before we left, so they could get to know the routine and the whole experience was seemless. When we returned our dog Rio was a happy boy and had been taken out for several walks, the house was very tidy and the sheets washed. We definitely recommend Joy and Tony.

Wonderful Housesitters
For the second year running we were fortunate enough to have Joy and Tony looking after our house and menagerie of animals. They arrived as planned a few hours before we had to leave for the airport, needed little reintroduction to the house and animals' needs and left us to complete the mad scramble of packing for our 3 week trip to Thailand. It makes such a difference to a departure knowing that everything is in safe hands. The wonderful holiday was capped off by having the house, garden and animals all in great shape on our return. Great House sitters September 2023
Joy & Tony are such a lovely couple We felt at home with them immediately and so did our animals Our animals, house and garden were very well looked after during an exceptionally hot period. Joy even welcomed us home with a beautiful tapas supper. We cant thank them enough for all they've done this week.and for their company. They are welcome here anytime as future sitters and new friends.

The perfect house sitters
Joy &Tony house sat for us in summer 22 and looked after our dogs, chickens, pigs and cockatiel as well as watering the plants and minding the house. This was our first experience of using house sitters and frankly couldn’t have been better. Increasingly our growing menagerie is making getting away on holiday more challenging. Joy and Tony were the perfect solution. Our large otterhounds greatly appreciated being able to stay at home rather than being shipped off to kennels, Joy and Tony were flexible regarding departure dates and provided updates on our pets to set our minds at ease whilst we were away. We couldn’t have asked for more they were brilliant!

Incredible first experience with Mind My House
This was the first time that we had used a service like this and our anxiety evaporated as soon as we spoke to Joy and Tony on the phone. They are very experienced house and pet sitters and it was a privelage to have them as our guests as we were boogying to various bands at Glastonbury this year. Dougal and Lenny, our two doggies, immediately fell in love with them and even slept in their room alone for a few nights after we got back and they had gone. Unheard-of as they always sleep with us! Dougal ( the trustworthy one) reported that he and Lenny were taken for long walks every day, were fed well and got more treats than they expected ( this was a good thing ... Apparently ). Joy and Tony respected our house and garden while they were here and left it in a perfect state when they left. They even water our plants for us. ( Thank you.) Joy sent regular pics of what they were doing that made us all laugh. We would not hesitate in asking them to visit us again and to look after our doggies and house. Absolutely delighted .....
We could not have been more pleased to get home from our restful holiday to find that the dogs and our house were all in tip top order, thanks to Joy and Tony's care and attention. When our house sitters of 12 years were unavailable, we were sceptical as to whether we would find other house sitters who would meet all our needs - we did not need to worry with Joy and Tony. From the offset, the communication was great, references were very positive as was their attitude. Would highly recommend.

Lovely Couple and Perfect Sitters
Joy and Tony looked after our house and 2 dogs for 2 weeks in March 2020. We met Joy before they started the house sit and got on very well with her. When we met Tony he was just as warm and friendly as Joy and both are very experienced and capable people we felt so reassured by them that the dogs were in good hands. They did a fantastic job of looking after our house and our dogs. Kept in touch with us throughout and regularly took our dogs on long walks in the countryside. The dogs obviously had been well exercised and were very comfortable in their company. We can highly recommend Joy and Tony as sitters and would love to have them return!

Going away without worrying
Tony and Joy house/dog/cat sat for us more than once. They are really nice people who understand animals. Our 3 dogs and theirs got on very well and after 5 mins were friends, as we have become with Tony and Joy. They are always our first port of call when we go away. Highly recommended - very reliable and friendly house sitters
It was so nice to go on holiday knowing that my animals and house were in Joy and Tony's safe hands. Lovely couple who took our dog Pepper on lovely long walks each day. Pepper loved hanging out with their 3 dogs, which was a real bonus. They brilliantly handled Pepper catching a local chicken and went and smoothed things out with the farmer afterwards! Also, they handled the injured eye of one of our very shy wild cats, which could have turned very nasty if left. The house was spotless when we came home, and we were really chuffed with the weeding done also in our absence.
