Travel Happy Nurse Couple!

About this sitter

We are a couple originally from the East Coast- we both lived in Asheville, NC for several years before we met. Once we met and decided to begin some travels and ventured to various places across the US. We worked seasonally in beach towns and ski resorts and would spend our off season time traveling the world. We have lived in ... Outer Banks, NC ; Washington, DC; Denver, CO; Swannanoa, NC; Vail, CO. Charlottesville, VA; Fort Collins, CO. Walla Walla, Washington and recently landed back in the beloved south. Greenville, SC. We moved to Washington State when we were both accepted into a Nursing program and are now, both Registered Nurses working in the ICU at Prisma Health in Greenville. We ultimately want to be travel nurses full time, but for now are happy taking trips during our time off. We are looking to enjoy our time house sitting in beautiful places, spending lots of time outdoors, trying to grow and learn about new cultures and see fabulous new places along the way.

Why they want to house sit

We are interested in house sitting for the experience of living and learning in various places around the world and to grow as people from it. We are avid hikers and travelers always looking to see new horizons. We ultimately would like to learn more about gardening and the care of different types of farm animals.

Their experience

Yes! We are a part of the work exchange program WorkAway and have had multiple experiences within the program. We spent 9 weeks in Tortola, British Virgin Islands three summers ago. We helped maintain rental properties, painting and doing small repairs on them when they were not occupied. We also planted about 50 trees on properties for our wonderful host. After BVI, we did a 3 week stay of house sitting in an eco villa on the island of Vieques in Puerto Rico- maintaining the gardens and home. We then spent three months in Europe, doing work exchange in Tuscany, Friuli, and the Minervois region in France. During our time in Europe we did multiple outdoor projects, gardening, and were private chefs for a lovely couple in France. Additionally, we are highly experienced servers in fine-dining, having worked at some of the top restaurants in Asheville NC, Washington DC, and Vail CO, so we have a deep background in hospitality. Taylor has experience with WWOOF (willing workers on organic farms) - where she did farm work exchange in New Zealand and Australia. We both have done several house sittings within the US- including stays in Charlottesville VA, Seattle, Portland, Denver, and Palm Springs. We have hosted AirBnb together for over 6 years now and use it greatly to travel as well.

What can they bring to the assignment

We are skilled cooks and love to do so, able to bake bread and handmade pasta. We also have experience in organic gardening (indoor and outdoor) and would love to learn and grow in this area! We are also able to help with small house/property projects such as painting, and are always willing to learn a new skill! We both have a lot of experiences in caring for animals and have an amazing 11 year old pup named Lucy. Additionally, we have had experience cleaning and preparing rental properties. As we have years and years of hospitality experiences having worked in various Fine-dining restaurants on the East Coast and Colorado.
We spend a good amount of our leisurely time outside, enjoying hiking, biking, backpacking, snowboarding, and everything on the water. We also spend a lot of time cooking and baking, while also studying and drinking good wine. Overall, we are healthy, positive, strong, energetic, and work well together. We are always looking for a way to better ourselves and the world around us.
