About this sitter
We, Elke (59) and Michael (58) love to travel, discover new countries, people and lifestyles. Our software company enables us to work almost anywhere in the world. The only thing we need is a comfortable home in beautiful surroundings and fast Internet access. At the moment we favor Europe and Canada. Meantime we are spontaneous and flexible. Duration not longer than 3 weeks.
Why they want to house sit
In the last years we spent several weeks in the United States to combine work and travel. Michael is a software architect and programmer. Elke is a talented organizer, managing the office and has enough time to take care of house, garden and animals. So house sitting would be a win win for all concerned.
Their experience
We often do Housekeeping at Michael's mothers house in the Black Forest. She has a wonderful dog and a headstrong, sweet cat. We love the early morning walks, and sometimes we even get accompanied by the cat :-)
Elke has already gained her first experience as a student in the summer holidays.
What can they bring to the assignment
We are reliable, responsible and treat other people's property as if it were our own. For us respect is important, for people and animals equally. Of course, we want to take care of your house and garden so that it remains in a neat condition (plant watering, mowing lawns, weeding).
Elke loves flowers, herbs and dreams of even keeping baby goats :-) It would be a pleasure to become acquainted with your pets and to walk regularly. A friendly interaction with people and with neighbors :-) is important to us.

We had a special encounter with Elke and Michael: As it turned out, the two had looked after the house and animals at a friend of ours several times. Therefore, it was immediately clear to us that we trust the two. When life experience, love, empathy and a lot of positive vibes move into the house..
Life ist beautiful, the vacation can be wonderful relaxing, because you know Elke and Michael are in your house and with your beloved animals. Once Elke and Michael arrive, you know, everything will be just fine. And that's how we found everything after 3 weeks. The house was super clean, it smelled nice, the animals were just wonderful. Wheren't they even a little more relaxed? Chicken coop, chicken, cats - simply nothing to complain. Just wonderful. On top of that a couple with character that you like to listen to and get lost in great conversations. Too bad, that we all have to get back to work and need our own beds again. Stay happy and healthy, Elke and Michael. Please come again and lets stay in touch!

Elke and Michael came to house sit for 2 weeks and immediately showed a friendly,enthusiastic and interested attitude. They were quick to understand the particular situation of the house, the garden, our house cats, and chickens and the ducks, plus their various needs for feeding and watering, exercise, daily routine, and above all safety. On our return we saw the animals were happy and confident, and had been looked after with great affection and real care. The garden had been carefully weeded, plants, plus pots watered. The pool care was excellent and they oversaw the final cleaning process by following the instructions perfectly. The house was left impeccably clean, we were welcomed back with a delicious meal of home cooking, and we feel very lucky to have met with 2 such pleasant, reliable, energetic and completely steady people. Silver aged with a silver lining!
Choosing this "silver aged' couple, as they advertise themselves, proved to be a good idea from the start. These are the kind of people that you want in your house: living there, enjoying it, playing the piano, loving the cat: simply having a good time like you would like them to have, while taking your worries away. They stayed in contact, were clean and reliable, and even our neighbors told us how nice they were. They left us a clean house, decorated with flowers, and a fridge with great food. Too bad they live all they way in Karlsruhe! If you are looking for house-sitters with a silver lining: here they are!

Friendly and reliable German couple
Elke & Michael house-sat for 1 week in July 2016. On our return everything was completely fine, and they had also cooked dinner for us, which was much appreciated. Elke & Michael were very conscientious when following our extensive instructions for looking after our large garden; they did this job very well. They harvested and cooked some of our vegetables – which made us feel better about leaving the garden behind for 1 week in hot weather. We would fully recommend them.
