About this sitter

I love to learn about new places, other cultures, spend my time in private homes, take care of cats, dogs and other smaller pets. I don't smoke or drink and even though I am adventures and like to explore my surrounding, I love to spend time
in a home, care for pets and keep it homely.

You can be shure that I am 100 % trustworthy, clean and tidy, with a very good common sense. Once I have taken up a commitment people can rely on me. I like meeting new people and enjoy good conversation: I am quiet, not a party person.

Being grown up in the countryside I love nature a lot. I lived in cities for long and enjoy them too very much - as long as a home is a more quiet spot. I am comfortable and keep myself busy even in remote places. I love to read and love cosy and clean homes. I have no need for TV, AC but would need Wifi or at least somewhere near - if its a remote place, so I can check mails.

My main motivation is to make owners feel good that their pets are in loving and caring, safe and responsible hand so that they can enjoy their holidays in a relaxed way and know that they will return to a clean and well-kept home.

I do speak fluent english, and enough spanish to manage living in spanish speaking countries. I have spent a lot of time in Spain and Colombia, and lived many years in India.
 

Why they want to house sit

I have always been very interested to learn more about other cultures and countries. Therefore I like to stay private when I travel, usually via airbnb. I also really enjoy to look after a home, care for pets and plants and cook my own vegetarian food. Pets, with their individual characters, give me lots of joy. I keep a place for all of them in my heart and they give me happy memories.

Their experience

* I did house and cat-sitting in a villa in Marbella in 2012. (through mindmyhome)

* I always took care of my friends' cats when they were away from home.

* In summer 2012 and 2014 I looked after two adoring cats for the same owners
in Zürich. They told me that their home was even cleaner than they left it and
their cats were happy and relaxed and well taken care of (through mindmyhome,
pls. see ref. below)

* I looked after a dog during a private stay in spain in 2014, where the owner left
her alone for long hours, while I was on holiday for a couple of months.

* I adopted a sick elderly cat who lived on the balcony for some weeks when I
had rented a private room in Lisbon. My host warned me not to touch her as
she would bite, but within a few days I conquered her heart and to the surprise
of the owner she loved to be stroked and cuddled, so they left it to me to look
after her.

* 2017: I house sat someone's cat in a nearby city twice during the
weekends. They told me they had never seen the cat so relaxed when they
returned home.

* I took care of a large home with lot's of flowers and plants, big garden with a
swimming pond in Austria (8-9/17) (Pls. see the ref. at the end of my profile).

* I was looking after 3 cute cats during winter 2017/18 in Marbella.

* I took care of 2 Beauties (forest cats) in Berlin in May 2018 (pls. see ref. below)

* I looked after a lovely old lady dog in New Town, Edinburgh in April and
June 2018

Unfortunatly I am bad with saving stuff so lost my old references from mindmyhouse sittings when my computer broke down. Mmh also doesn't store them for more than a year. Therefore I added other references, also from my guests as an airbnb host in the end of this listing

What can they bring to the assignment

Being trained as a 'Heilpraktiker' (Naturopath/alternative medicine) in various healing methods, including spiritual healing, teaching yoga and yoga therapy for almost three decades, I feel I have a sensitivity to what others need - people, animals and plants. I connect very fast with animals, and owners are often surprised that dogs and cats come up to me even when they don't go to others. This happens on my daily walks, too.
Please note, that even so I love animals a lot, I like to have my bed for my own and sleep also alone at nights. I also can't deal with strong big dog who pulls the leash.

In all my professions my main interest was to satisfy my clients/customers being 100 % reliable.

* I worked in various coperations for over 10 yrs, one of them Cambridge
Instruments, Cambridge, UK (now Leica Ltd.)

* I was employed in the city theater as prompter and stage manager and enjoyed
being part of a film team while shooting in different islands in Andaman &
Nicobar.

* I studied alternative medicine (Heilpraktiker) and run my own clinic

* During my studies I took care for elderly people in their homes 24/7

* I am trained as an occupational therapist and worked with handicapped
people, in a pediatric and neurological clinic, and in a private nature
cure hospital

* I teach Yoga since 1996: in India I taught yoga for patients in the center during
my studies; I taught relaxation and stress management classes and did
counseling in a health insurance for 10 years and gave private yoga courses

Through my life- and work experience, extensive travels in many countries in different parts of the world, I gained organizational and psychological skills, with a deep understanding of the nature of beings and their needs, and life itself.

Please note:

POLICE CHECK.
I never needed one. Therefore I would only get one if requested and you are seriously interested. I had never any problem with the police of course.

REFERENCES.
I have just renewed my membership, but my references are not there anymore. I am not good with computers and forgot to save them. I will try to get them from the owners I have been sitting.

AVAILIBILITY.
I am quite flexible with dates. Will do shorter sittings during the summer, but will take up a long term sitting in the winter 2018/19 in a warmer climate.

COSTS.
I sit for free, but as I am early retired, I have to check the costs for travel and car rental if needed which I do after a host shows interest. Depending on the location I would appreciate support for these expenditures. I am fine on the other hand to take care of certain expendures if costs are within a certain amount (electricity f.e.) yet only for long term agreements.

MISCELLANEOUS.
Beside free house and petsitting I can offer to look for your guests and even run and maintain a small guesthouse. I can also do some light gardening work (for free). If I do any work beside a normal housesitting looking after a home, plants and pets - and I do my work 150 % like we say in germany, there should be an agreement for payment.

If you would like me to sit for you, please write down all specific details of your pets and their needs, of your house as well as any other specific requirements you may have. This ensures that the sitting works out perfectly well for you.

"Anita house sat for us while we were in Finnland for two weeks. Anita respected our property and personal belongings and she obviously loves animals as our two cats she had in her care had been extremely well cared for and were in good health, relaxed and happy.

1 week cat and plants sitting in a small Flat. My fist try with this website.
Anita is a reliable and trustworthly person and took really good care of my cats, plants and flat. She has a special connection with animals. We had daily contact for stories of my cats or questions that came up. She is full of interesting stories of her life. I didnt have a proper Paper ready with all things to know so it was harder to have a smooth hand over. I will make one! She really did her best to make my cats happy even if they didnt obey. :) All was tidy and clean when i returned. Thank you Anita!

This apartment is first of all a home to come back to, it is cosy and full of atmosphere, and Anita is the best part of it since she is such a great host. Anita is one of the most friendly & openminded person I have ever met. I enjoyed talking with her over herb tea :) The room as well as the whole apartment is clean, with lots of light. There was a stack of all the information a tourist needs/wants to know about Stuttgart and the area around: public transportation maps, museum brochures, etc. Wifi was fast, with no interruptions while on. Iwill definitely stay again when I'm in the area.

We would like to recommend Anita's apartment :) we stayed two nights there. We liked Anita very much, she is a lovely person and treated us very good. the room was comfortable and big, also the house was very clean and warm. we liked to sit in the mornings and talk with Anita, she is very interesting women and has big heart. the breakfast was tasty. she helped us with everything that we needed and asked her! she put in the room a lot of information with explanations about vary of things that tourist need to know, like good places to go, directions , maps etc. we had a great time in her place :)
