About this sitter

I am a freelancer working remotely as a clinical consultant. I love travelling which inspires me and has opened a whole new perspective on life for me. I come from Slovakia, lived in the Czech Republic, Germany and Spain 1 and now I mostly reside in Prague, Czech Rep.
Most of my experience is in taking care of dogs and cats (including sphynx type), but also took care of some exotic birds, hamsters, rabbits, fish and a short experience with farm animals (mainly horses and chickens). I also like gardening. I am a big animal and nature lover (although I'm quite afraid of snakes and spiders and am not fond of big insects in general, but I have learned to live around them).
I used to have a rescue dog myselfher so I am familiar with dogs that are very shy and socially anxious.
I also have experience taking care of a small hotel and a garden. I used to have a small garden myself where I grew vegetables and herbs and I find gardening one of the most relaxing activities in my life (especially recommended for office nerds and city people).

Why they want to house sit

For me housesitting/pet sitting is a way to get to know different places/countries/while not experiencing them as a tourist on holidays and be able to afford staying somewhere for a longer period of time. It allows me to stay in a local place while still keeping a rather normal way of life by being responsible for the flat/house, pets, cooking, shopping etc, as a local would do. This creates a different experience than visiting a place and staying at a hotel and having no commitments.

In the past, I used Couchsurfing website/community when travelling and it allowed me to travel alone without feeling alone and I managed to get to know a lot of people from around the world who have become my friends.

Their experience

I have a lot of experience with dogs, but I also used to have cats, a bird and fish. I was taking care of a dwarf rabbit which belonged to my flatmate regularly. I did a catsitting using this website in June 2018. I work as a building manager and a housekeeper, so I have a lot of experience with taking care of someone's property, house or a flat, cleaning and keeping it safe and tidy.
I also have some basic experience with plants and garden maintenance as well as with house maintenance.

I do not have much experience with caring for horses, but I used to spend time with horses when I was a teenager at the camp and I am willing to learn new skills if needed. Generally, I love animals a lot and I am quite responsible and sensible when looking after them. I do take them as living and feeling creatures who deserve the best possible care.

What can they bring to the assignment

I am a responsible and reliable person who can be trusted with taking care of other living beings as well as of a property and plants. I am also a very tidy and organized person who si very respectful of other people's ways of life and privacy. I have been living with other people for the past 15 years and have learned a lot about what it means to share a living space with other people, look after and use responsibly personal belongings of others and be respectful to the environment and this planet.
