About this sitter
We are a retired Australian couple who moved to France in 2018. We are both fit and healthy and enjoy travelling. We prefer to spend time getting to know different areas so would be looking for house sitting opportunities and are equally happy in the countryside or the inner city. We speak English with a smattering of French and German.
Why they want to house sit
We love to travel but don't really enjoy the tourist trail. We'd much rather settle in and find out what the locals enjoy and what is special about that region.

Fantastic house sitters!
Glenda and Andrew house sat for us for about 2 weeks, looking after our house and our cat. We had a phone chat for about 20 minutes to decide whether it was the right option for both parties, and right from the off they were warm, friendly and clearly animal lovers. We also had a number of Whats App exchanges prior to the house sit to finalise details. They were very understanding and flexible when I had a few date changes due to the airline changing our flights, and were happy to accommodate the changes. We spent about an hour with them handing over, and felt really confident that we were leaving our cat and the house in safe hands. They sent us regular updates about how it was going so we knew that the cat was safe and happy (he was curled up in their suitcase on 2 occasions so I don't think he wanted them to leave!) When we returned the house was clean and tidy, the garden had been kept up together and the bedsheets and towels were washed and hanging on the line. We honestly couldn't be happier with Glenda and Andrew, and our cat probably wishes they would come back!

Glenda and Andrew
We were happy with Glenda and Andrew house-sitting for us, they arrived 2 days before we left for a 3 week break. We have a book with everything written in, from who to call to how the electric goes off. They seemed very confident and capable and we finished our packing. The evening before we left on our first leg of our journey by train, was cancelled! Glenda and Andrew offered to drive us the airport directly...2 hrs away. We were so grateful. Our cats were well looked after, and one Charlie made his way onto their bed very quickly! Buster was a little more reserved! Glenda and Andrew picked us up from the train station on our way back, even though it was 20h 30 and an hours drive away. On return the house was clean and Glenda had washed our bed linen as Charlie had come in from the rain and made it wet! After they had gone, we found they had left a couple of things, and taken our postbox key. I am posting their stuff and the key arrived back with us yesterday. They had lots of their own things to do, and were glad of a desk in the guest bedroom. They also loved looking around local brocantes and garden centres...going home with several shrubs and a small tree. We didn't have a particularly good time away, and don't envisage any holidays for a long time, but if we do, we would certainly give Glenda and Andrew our consideration.

Fairy god pet parents
Glenda and Andrew cared for our two dogs and cat as well as our house over 3 weeks in December. I could not recommend them more as house sitters. We came home to a tidy home and very relaxed calm dogs. We got great pictures of the dogs out on adventures and walks. Communication was fantastic and it was like we had our parents looking after our pets and home. Such a blessing.

Great sit at the last minute.
Glenda was able to take a last minute sit for our two cats. She kept in touch about her travel and also kept us up to date on the cats' antics. We came home to a sparkling house and a lovely homemade quiche. We highly recommend her.

I made contact with Glenda and Andrew via Skype and got a great feeling about them. They came and looked after my wolf for 2 weeks in August. They were very warm, and genuinely lovely people. Glenda left us some amazing delicious jams which she made and the house was beautifully tidy when we got home. Our garden even looked amazing upon our return! Updates and photos were sent so that we knew our wolf was happy (Glenda and Andrew ask how much contact you’d like to have which was very thoughtful) I feel you’d be very happy to have them sit for your pets and look after your house - in fact I feel that they are 2 rare gems.
