About this sitter

I am a professor who is free to travel during the summers, which gives me the flexibility to spend time in other parts of the country or world. My wife and I are interested in house sitting opportunities in the US this summer, and we might consider an international situation as well.

Why they want to house sit

First, of course, it's a great deal - I love being able to go stay for awhile in some place I've never been, without having to pay a whole lot for lodging! It's also nice to be able to spend time in cities, towns, and neighborhoods that I probably wouldn't ever visit if it weren't for the house sitting opportunity. Since much of my time is spent reading and writing, I also appreciate the fact that house sitting allows me to do that in a "home" environment where I can stay largely undisturbed by the outside world if I so choose.

Their experience

My wife and I house sat for a couple in Brazil for six weeks a few years ago, watching over their property and taking care of their five dogs. Then by myself I house sat for a couple in Costa Rica, who needed someone there for a few weeks to make the property available to a realtor who was showing it to potential buyers. Most recently, we house sat for a couple in a nearby town, looking after their two dogs while they were in Europe for a couple weeks.

What can they bring to the assignment

My wife and I are both quiet, clean, respectful, and responsible -- we will certainly treat your home with the same care and concern as we would our own. We love dogs and cats and are happy to watch over them, always mindful and attentive in looking after their well-being.
